We unexpectedly needed an emergency vet on a Sunday afternoon, we found capital city vets based on the high google review. The office staff was very helpful in getting us in right away, the veterinarian is very knowledgeable and prompt. We are very thankful for their compassionate care!

Saved my dog from MRSA. Another Vet place performed a “sudden emergency surgery” on my dog and he ended up with MRSA. His wound kept getting bigger, and they just kept blaming me. Finally took him to Cap City. They swabbed the surgical wound and sent it to the lab. My dog had MRSA and really needed a specific antibiotic to combat it. As soon as he was on the antibiotic, his wound miraculously healed up and he was a healthy happy pup again.Thank you, Cap City. ❤️

Brought my dog in for annual check up and shots when I moved to the area. She had a prior history of a heart murmur but the Vet wasn’t to concerned until she developed a cough to which I replied she was doing. Since he was less than concerned I got a second opinion. My dog has a grade 4-5 Heart Murmur and Mitral Valve Disease with left sided volume overload Stage 2. She needs 3 medications daily to ensure the best quality of life she can have while she still has some time. Please Reconsider Your Choices for Your Loved Ones

I’ll say this the staff seemed sympathetic towards our situation and some services were cheaper, but now let me explain why I rated this place a 1. First we filled them in on our cats background, because he isn’t a patient of their vet. They did blood work & X-rays on our cat and then Dean ruled that our cat was constipated. Therefore, we took our cat home to watch his behavior and see if he went to the bathroom. They also had given us something to make our cat hungry for an additional $50 since he hadn’t been eating. Not to mention they treated him for his constipation. Let’s skip forward 1 day after his visit they recommended us to bring him in one more time and consult with a different doctor. When we brought him back in they told us they found new results after previously telling us our cat was in phenomenal shape and everything checked back great. They also wanted to start doing tests on a “bump they discovered” that I previously told them about when informing them on his background (which they disregarded). Shortly after talking with the other doctor and the vet tech they quoted us over 1800+ on an ultrasound and $400+ on an X-ray. Confused why they didn’t start the ultrasound along with blood work or xrays. We then asked what each service would do for our pet. The vet tech then told us what each service would do for our cat. When we asked if we got Xrays again it would just show the same thing as last time and they agreed…….Also not to mention their location was filled with nothing but dog products which is kinda inconsiderate since people also own other types of animals. Maybe getting other animals products will increase sales?I hope this business improves its practicesLONG STORY SHORT DONT GO HERE WASTE OF TIME & MONEY

Brought our 11 month old dog in for them to slap us with $500 bill to tell us that what’s going on with her could be due to seasonal allergies. Gave her a shot of Benadryl and a cone to take home which we have both things already and our dog has figured out how to itch herself with the cone they provided us with on. They insisted with this type of cone she couldn’t do that. Yeah ok she got that figured out within an hour of being home. Also they took forever to come back and look over our dog for something that turned out to be small. Will not be bringing our dog back.

This clinic provides urgent care needs to non-clients. You do have to make an appointment for urgent care needs. I don’t know the reason, but perhaps because of the high demand for their services. I only had to wait 24 hours to see a vet Vs two weeks to see my pets primary provider. Upon arrival for my appointment, I was immediately taken to a room and waited briefly for a vet. The care of my pet was compassionate and she was treated well. Diagnosis explained thoroughly and follow up instructions given as well. Overall a very positive, first time experience and plan to return.

The vets here took such good care of my cat (and me) through his end of life process. They are so compassionate and caring towards the animals in every situation, and reasonably priced.

I am generally apprehensive about going to the vet and my dog is even more apprehensive, but my (our) experience with Cap City Vet was extremely pleasant. They were able to get us in the same day and quickly identified the issue. My dog had less anxiety here then anywhere we've been before and he let the vet examine him without any issues which is very rare. All involved were very friendly too. Thank you!

Wonderful place and people. Our Maltipoo recently had to have some teeth extracted, and we're so glad we chose Capital City Vet Clinic to do it. Carleen, the doggie dentist, spent plenty of time with me before and after the procedure in order to explain everything. They took great care of our Meringue and she recovered quickly with no complications. Thank you to everyone at Capital City Vet Clinic!

Unbelievable! I took my dog into be neutered and they went ahead w a surgery on his eye I didn’t ask for and kept my dog from me as collateral until I paid the extra $900. $900 Ransom they forced me to pay for something I didn’t want or authorize! Literally kept my dog against my will! Like a kidnappers ransom!!! Whoa to those the choose to leave their pets here! Unless you got the money to pay whatever they decide to throw on there don’t do it!

The staff- are just the best! I can't tell you how many times they have gotten me in at the last minute. They are warm, knowledgeable, and careful with my pup and kitties. I absolutely recommend them and trust they will provide the highest level of care every time.

I've had a few issues with this place. I called an hour after opening and they couldn't get my cat scheduled for an appointment because they were all booked up for the next two days. What kind of place only schedules a day ahead of time? Their website also says they see exotics, but when I tried to get my guinea pig in, I was told (kind of rudely) that they don't. They call themselves "urgent care," but honestly a few other vet clinics around the Madison area have better availability and DON'T function under covid policies. They need to update their website and how they run things.

Nightmare!!! They actually performed a surgery that wasn’t asked for or authorized on my dog and held him captive until I paid for it! He went in for a neuter and they actually corrected an eye droop cosmetically. I refused that when I was quoted it and they still did it and ransomed my poor dog for an additional $900. Since they are dogs the police treat like it’s a car and your mechanic! We are flabbergasted!!! You can’t go into building either. The vet hides behind his poor staff members you can’t talk about it or do anything. WARNING!!!! Don’t go!!!! Don’t make the same mistake myself and all the other people are warning you about! I should’ve read the reviews. Never again!

My dog was not a patient here but was having seizures and they got her in same day, ran some tests and got her on meds. So far so good! All the staff I interacted with were very friendly and the cost was cheaper than emergency vet.
