She explained my options and had everything organized for my arrival. The veterinarian and the technician were sympathetic and had genuine empathy. 100% recommend for your fur babies.
Update: The paw print they made is beautiful. They even sent me a card and planted a tree in her name. I’m not crying, okay maybe a little.

Door County Veterinary Hospital
3915 Old Hwy Rd, Sturgeon BayDoor county vet hospital, has been the best thing that happened to my husband and I when we rescued our fur baby. We got him when he had a major infection from being neutered and had follow up shots he needed as well. Everyone at this clinic was so welcoming and helpful! They took our dog gave him the best dog and then explained everything thoroughly to us about what is wrong and what we need to do. When he had a skin infection they got us in right away and again explained everything we needed to know. Our fur baby is happy and healthy and now living his best life!
When we had to put down our first fur baby we were heart broken but we made the call to door county vet hospital and the the doctor was off that day but made a special trip back in for us so that we could peacefully send our fur baby over the rainbow bridge. He went peacefully and the doctor and Hailey gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye!
This clinic is by far the best in door county and the people working at this clinic are true animal lovers. If you want the best for your fur baby bring them here you won’t be disappointed!

4849 Glidden Dr, Sturgeon BayOur family favorite. Seen this place from 30 years ago and every year since. The menu is basic American fare . Food is good, hours are wonky but we don’t complain, ambiance is on the most beautiful place with fast efficient service.
I remember as a kid the game room and bar that stuck out taking up the entire restaurant. Then our distant cousin bought it, reconstructed the inside and began selling pizza but closed then after and sold to someone who named it “the Tin plate” (didn’t last long at all lol..) and now the current owners - which is a perfect fit. Always top tier service, so SO glad to see this place serve its intended purpose exactly how it’s supposed to be ?

5th and Jefferson Coffee House
232 N 5th Ave, Sturgeon BayThe coolest cafe I’ve ever been to. So unique and artsy, while also actually having delicious food and coffee. I could drink the iced cinnamon roll latte every day. My husband finished his hot pistachio latte in just a couple minutes. Seriously so good!! We also each got a breakfast burrito when we definitely could have shared. We want to explore the other cafes in town, but 5th and Jefferson has set a high standard!!

Wonderful people, fantastic prices, and most of all the stuff here is so beautifully lovely and so special. Go!!! 5 free wine samples :) I actually only needed 3, I got a quick surprise favorite on #2 (Cranberry Mule—ingredients I never usually go for). Try the cherry and blueberry balsamic… the vanilla fig would be so good with ice cream… the fudge is incredible… well, I’m happy I don’t live too far, is all I have to say.

Wisconsin Humane Society Door County Campus
3475 Park Dr, Sturgeon BayI just adopted my new best friend and hiking partner. The people at the Humane society in Door County were so nice. They helped me with meeting the dog I came to see from their website and filled me in on her temperament and what ever else they new about her history they even sent me home with enough if the food that they've been feeding her for about 2 weeks so I could slowly switch her food or have time to buy more of the same.
