I am a photographer that has photographed a few weddings at Stone Harbor and I just have to say that it is a great spot for a wedding! It's large enough for a big guest list, will take care of all the catering, and has plenty of rooms so your guests don't have to drive. The lawn outside, with a few of the water, is a stunning ceremony site. And as a photographer, I love the waterfront views of the bridge and stunning sunsets!Rooms: Lots of roomsNearby activities: Within driving distance to all Door County attractionsSafety: I never had issues with safetyWalkability: Located in Downtown Sturgeon Bay within walking distance to shops and restaurantsFood & drinks: Has onsite food and drinksNoteworthy details: The waterfront views are amazing!

A high end resort. The rooms are clean and modern. Staff are polite. The view of the bridge and marina from the bar is gorgeous. They often have live entertainment. The bar has a martini menu.

Drinks were inconsistant, guy with cap put very little alcohol in drinks. Girl behind bar had wnba on every tv. When we asked to get a diff channel on, she got angry. Then other patrons were asking as well. Did not seem welcoming.

The restaurant has good food, but the service was not top rate. The hostess seemed mad that she had to seat people and I was there at 505, right after opening so it was slow and the waiter would disappear and never brought/ asked about refills for drinks.

We had dinner only. It was ok, I wouldn't say anything fabulous. Had the shrimp scampi linguine, very bland. Others said the steak was decent. Perch special was soggy like they cooked early and let it sit.

Hands down, my favorite resort to stay in is Stone Harbor in Door County. Every single person working at stone harbor has exceptional hospitality towards all their guest. Makes you feel right at home:)

Not the friendliest staff around. The rooms were clean and spacious. Location is perfect.

Came for a conference which started at 1.. hotel didn't think to have rooms ready for all guests to check in for the conference..They never even put a rush to get room done faster..... and to make it even better...outdoor pool was closed and website never mentioned that when booking ?

We have stayed her many times before, but this year, noticed a serious decline overall. For starters, it is the middle of summer, and no one mentioned that the outdoor pool is closed and covered! Really? The sole washing machine and elevator are out of order. They will clean every fourth day, but don't provide more than one packet of coffee, one dishwasher pod, one roll of TP. And housekeeping doesn't answer the phone. The place looks weathered and they seem not to care. There is hardly anyone staying here in this prime summer travel season. I now understand why.

My husband ended up going to the ER up there and we had to come home a day early. Stone Harbor completely refunded that night without any problems. The staff was so concerned over his health!Plus great rooms, great view, great location and great tiki bar!

This hotel needs a little updating. Our room had two queen beds and a hot tub. Problem was there was no closet or anywhere to hang anything. Also no decent sized desk or dresser. Beds were comfortableWalkability: Downtown is close by within 2-3 blocks

We ate at the Pub out on the patio with a view of Sturgeon Bay Canal. Service was great. I had local cherry cider and loved it. I had the Cobb salad and my husband had Club Wrap both were very good quality and taste. Price was very reasonable.

Hospitality? More like hostility.Stone Harbor didn’t live up to the name of Resort. It had below the level of basic amenities you could expect from a standard hotel. We were excited for our first visit, but unfortunately, we experienced many examples of subpar quality and poor management in our stay. The concierge who checked my girlfriend and I in Friday night for a four night stay, didn’t mention any of the amenities (e.g., restaurant, fitness center, indoor pool, wifi, live music). While many of these amenities were subpar (and most of them are open to the public), we didn’t even receive a basic understanding of them. He was curt with our questions about car rental options along with other resort related questions. He was cold, texting during our conversation, and his demeanor left us feeling unwelcome. That same night, the indoor bar was overrun with a wedding reception after party where the guests were completely drunk and rowdy, including a groomsman who had taken his shirt off and was doubled over in a chair in the middle of the room. From that moment on, it was clear that they were prioritizing events such as weddings and conferences at the expense of providing a positive guest experience. The outdoor pool was closed without advanced notice for our entire stay and we did not find out about this disturbance until the next day of our stay. They don’t offer breakfast (even for a charge). We had better experiences with another concierge named Kay, she was at least friendly. But she didn’t have enough authority to help us with our problems, she wasn’t even able to help us coordinate late check out. We assume that her boss keeps her on a tight leash. The drinks from the tiki bar were so poorly prepared that they were undrinkable. We gave one back and threw the other out.Our rooms were outdated with decor that was a visionless mismatch of builder-grade finishes and appliances, and heavy floral curtains that your grandmother would likely consider outdated. Our room smelled so strongly of smoke we had to change rooms. They upgraded our room, but it still fell far below the bar of resort accommodations. While both rooms were spotlessly clean when we arrived, in our 4 night stay, our room never got a cleaning service. The resort had posted signs saying they only clean every third day, which is already limited service, but they didn’t even deliver on that.Seemingly, they are cutting costs by reducing their cleaning workforce and employing fewer housekeepers. On top of that, in our stay, I heard a woman who I assume to be a manager speaking disrespectfully to her housekeeping staff while they were in the hall. The best experiences we had in Sturgeon Bay took place when we spent time outside of the resort and explored the local small businesses. The best thing about Stone Harbor was its proximity to a nearby food truck Papa B’s. It was delicious, had great hours, and welcomed us eagerly. (One of the concierges mentioned it so much, you would have thought it was an amenity of the resort). At the end of the stay, we asked for a receipt, and they couldn’t create one for us. They said they would email it to us, but when we asked what email they’d send it to, they didn’t even have an email address on file. We are still waiting for the receipt. This felt like a once-beloved resort that has given up on its guest experience. If we could do it over again, we would have eagerly stayed at a local bed and breakfast—which would have likely offered more of the basics. Like breakfast. Or a receipt. We came into this experience having heard positive reviews about Stone Harbor—and you will find many here. But we came to understand that these reviews are based in nostalgia, not reality.I wouldn’t recommend anyone pay resort prices to stay at Stone Harbor and recieve such stone cold treatment.

Had a great time. The patio is a good place to see bands. The only bad thing is the room. we had only had a murphy bed, so it was not as comfortable.

Resyaurant was all we used. Steak was not cooked to order. Martini was lame. No potato only a flavorless rixe . Cherry vinagarette was good .
