I almost always find something that I would love to own. The range of artists and styles and media is fantastic. Theresa and her staff are great at letting you browse on your own but ate always willing to answer questions or engage in casual conversation about an artist or works on display.

This was an unexpected and delightful surprise. Lots of beautiful paintings, ceramics, furniture and photography by well known artists were on display. Even the gallery's old warehouse venue, with its pallet-sized scale and freight dumbwaiter, was interesting.The staff were helpful and knowledgeable.
Abel Contemporary Gallery has a reputation as one of the largest and most impressive collections of fine art and fine craft in the region, featuring notable works in many media, and hosting new exhibits every six to seven weeks by artists from across the nation. Over the years, the gallery has grown in quality and reputation, exhibiting artists with national prominence alongside the work of well-known local artists. The 8,000 square foot gallery is housed in a beautifully renovated former tobacco warehouse built in 1892 in Stoughton, WI just minutes from Madison.
