Our dog Zeus has been going to Point Area Veterinary Clinic for 7 years. Thankfully, during that time, nothing very serious occurred with his health. However, the past couple of months he has been having some issues going to the bathroom. It was clear something was wrong and he was very uncomfortable.
Of course, bc of location and Zeuss history of being treated at PAVC that is who we went to with our concerns.
I had seen a growth on my dogs backside. I described the issue to the receptionist while making the appointment, and she seemed to understand the urgency of the problem more so than I did.
However, when I saw the actual doctor the concern and effort was minimal. I described the problem as what seemed to be a hemorrhoid, but also said I was not sure and wanted to make sure it was not an infected abscess.
The doctor spent 5 mins with Zeus and NEVER did more than lift my dogs tail and examine him visually. No tests. No actual examination.
I should of said something in the office before walking to the front and paying the bill. I also feel like its not my responsibility to tell some with a doctorate to do the bare minimum. I told my wife that I felt they did a poor job, a sentiment I had shared with her after a previous visit, and felt uneasy with the lack of care they provided.
Zeus continued having issues. We took him to a different vet. After doing a very quick examination, the doctor immediately discovered a growth and ordered a biopsy.
After getting this news, the previous visit to PAVC upset me even more. If the doctor would have done their job at all we could have treated Zeus earlier. I decided to call the hospital manager.
This man, Frank Fiacchino, refused to take any accountability, and tried to convince me that the growth had occurred in the 3 weeks since his visit to their office. Even though I made the appointment because I had seen the growth in the same spot that the new doctor found it in. Franks point is moot. They would not know if there was a growth or not because the doctor, Denise Belue never did an exam. Could not be bothered to do her job.
Frank then attempted to gaslight my wife and I into believing that there were other factors that contributed to Denise not competently doing what we were paying her to do. The entire time he spoke to me it was in the most condescending and patronizing tone like I was an insane person who was only calling to have the 70$ I paid for their services refunded.
I did mention I wanted a refund, but that was hardly the point of the call. We take our animals to your hospital because we care about them and we want them to receive the best care from people we trust to be professionals. Let me tell you about professionalism, this man laughed at my wife, and labeled my concerns about their office a threat, and continued to contend that our many calls and emails were all simply to manipulate a refund of a sum totaling $70. It was never about the money, and the only thing worse than the services provided, was the reaction of the manager when we came to him with the issue.
My advice? Your animals deserve better care than what these people are willing to provide.

My dog had a growth that looked like a hemorrhoid. I explained this to the vet and they checked and said they could not see it. I saw it again at home and took him back. They looked at him and said they didn’t see it, without examining with their fingers or anything. One month later I’m at a new vet who told me he has a tumor there that needs to be biopsied. Don’t let your animal go here if you want people who actually care about your pet and want them to live.
EDIT: We spoke with the hospital manager frank on the phone, who did not take accountability and was not nearly as kind on the phone as he is acting in his response. He even laughed at me on the phone saying “he didn’t respond to threats or bad reviews” as my husband told him that we would be leaving bad reviews about this experience after he had refused to refund us and gaslit us the entire time, telling us that we were to not believe our own eyes. Just so frank knows, my plan was always to leave bad reviews and involve legal action for our dog’s pain and suffering. The first time we brought our dog into the office over a month and a half ago the growth was popping out of his anal cavity when he would go to the bathroom. It was clearly visible and painful for him. He attempted to nip at one of the vet techs for the first time ever as he has been going for a routine examination like this for his anal glands for 7 years. As I stated above, the second visit with a vet, she looked at his rear end and said it looked fine and did not even attempt to check with her fingers. Two visits in a month to address this issue. They did not examine him appropriately. Luckily we have found out that the problem with our dog did not develop progressively, it’s been a chronic condition that these vets and vet techs should have noticed. Our problem is not with the 80 bucks they owe us for not doing anything in the exam, but for ignoring us when we knew something was wrong and then refusing to take any accountability. Frank, I hope you resign from your job because if its not clear to you already, it’s not a good fit for you to be dealing with customer service. Thank you for showing me the true, snarky, uncaring, and irresponsible character of Point Area Vet.

I have been using PAVC for years now. They have a great staff and are extremely helpful and accommodating to your schedule. They’ve been great for both my dogs.

I have always had the best of care given to my pets at the Point Area Vet Clinic. I do however want to give a shoutout to Dr. Megan Kramer and Vet Assistant Shelia Sherry!
I came in this Monday in an urgent care appointment with my dog Athena who was having issues breathing. Shelia was very kind and considerate and listened to everything I said that was going on and asked follow up questions to help better understand things. She was very gentle with Athena when checking her over and was a joy to work with. Dr. Megan Kramer then came in and was also very kind and personable and listened to me and did not just push aside my concerns. By doing that she decided to get some X-rays and ended up finding that there some something going on and my concerns were valid. Even though she did not have the tools to do what needed to be done, she went out of her way to call BluePearl to see if I can get Athena checked out as soon as they could. Turns out Athena had a diaphragmatic hernia and needed to have surgery. I’m glad to say Athena is currently recovering but with out Dr. Megan and Sheila’s kindness compassion and knowledge, I could have lost Athena.
So thank you Dr. Megan Kramer and vet Assistant Sheila Sherry! You gals literally saved my dogs life!

Had my dog neutered. Came home with medication. His lab work before his surgery was almost the same price. Veterinarian was excellent.

My wife brought our dog in for a nail trim after being turned away by two groomers. My wife had already given our dog trazodone to calm her and didn’t want to waste the opportunity. The staff are always friendly and helpful!

We were switched over a few years ago when our last vet office closed with a weeks notice. I've always been treated fairly with respect and professionalism by all staff. I appreciate the same day appointments in emergent situations. You pay more for this service but it's better than taking your pet to the emergency vet in Mosinee in my opinion.

I appreciated that they made the effort to find time to see my pet with an acute problem. Everyone showed concern and they were all very competent.
