We have used the services of OCHAPS for over 5 years. First, for home visits to care for our cat, then 24 hour care for our now 5 y/o dog, Bucky. We regularly travel for 1-3 weeks at a time and kennels are out of the question. Tom and Angela are experts in pet care - their many years of experience is clearly evident from their comments each time they’ve been sitting for Bucky. They treat Bucky as their own and he is always returned to us healthy and happy. They are very flexible concerning logistics. We don’t understand how anyone would give them less than a 5 star review - anything less must be fake - perhaps from a competitor? We feel fortunate to have OCHAPS services available to us.

Angela and Tom are fantastic. They are always reliable, super friendly, and take excellent care of our dogs. Our dogs might like Angela more than us. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a great dog-walker or pet-sitter.

Absolutely avoid these people. Hired them 2 times. Completely ignored any note/ instructions. We had them "take care of" our two dogs, we got a call the first night that one of our dogs ran away and was missing. (He was supposed to be on a leash), bag of new chewies was left unopened. (After 10 days), accidents happened in the house ( most likely bc they were not let out as instructed), they were "cleaned up" using paper towels and then we're thrown in our indoor trash can ( imagine the smell after 10 days!!!), A massive whole was chewed into our couch, which was "re-stuffed " and covered up with a blanket. Communication with them is awful. They had people not talking about them for a long time bc they take a copy of your house keys, so ppl were fearful to comment, but now, thankfully with cameras becoming very common.. they're going to be screwed. Avoid these "people" at All Costs. Someone called them human garbage.. that is a perfect description. No idea how they can live with themselves.

We have been using Tom and Angela for 5 years ever since we’ve had 3 dogs. We are now down to one pit bull who doesn’t like other dogs (and some people). They are both very good with Lacy and our cat Eugene. They will also bring in our mail and do general house sitting duties. We are very happy with them!

After calling and texting with no reply, we had to cut our weekend vacation short and drive back 4 hours in the middle of the night because we didn’t know if he had let the dogs out.

I've never been treated so rudely and unprofessionally by a local business owner who I hired to care for my pets. If I could rate OCHAPS a ZERO, I would. If you don't mind wondering whether he's come by to let out/feed your pet(s), this is your guy. I guess one should just assume. Don't think he'll proactively text you to say he's checked on your pet(s) - even if you leave a note requesting it. He seems to get annoyed if you text to ask. BTW, who hired who? We also lost money by having to cancel our hotel room in destination because we had no idea if he tended to the dogs that evening. He never replied after the 10pm scheduled visit. So, we drove thru the night to get home. The next morning, no apology. Instead, he texted back and told ME to never call HIM "ever again". I recommend that pet owners look for a service other than OCHAPS.

Extremely poor communication skills. Tom rarely, if ever, replies whether a scheduled visit has been completed leaving an animal owner to worry. When he does, it's hours after. This past weekend, hired him & I checked in after 3 visits. No reply at all for third. So we cut our vacation short. He replied 8 hours later and told me "never to call " him again.

Had a great first meeting with them. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my trip due to COVID-19 in March 2020, so I did not use them. Fast forward 4 months. I contacted them to watch my dog for another trip. No response to two phone calls/voice mails left, one email, and one contact through their website. Maybe they've closed up shop, but it sure would have been nice to receive a call back letting me know.

We have used these guys in the past and had great results. However I called this last time, left emails, left text messages and got no response. Perhaps they are not providing these services anymore?

Had them once. Seemed good at the meet and greet. I had sent detailed instructions on the dogs and not to spend time on trash takeout, mail etc. but they had done those and not paid attention to the dogs. Mixed up the dogs food! One was on senior food and one on grain free for his allergies. One dog had thrown up during the time, I'm thinking coz of the wrong food and they charged extra for cleanup. Good thing they were not on any medicine that would have been mixed up. We checked up from time to time from the security cameras and the guy was on the phone almost every time we checked. Gave them another chance and contacted them since they said to just call for any short notice stay etc. We contacted them through email, called a few times, texted, NOTHING! If you don't want to job, at least have the decency to tell you don't want the work. Was very disappointed with ochaps. So happy we have someone reliable now who actually cares about the dogs.
