I had a tremendous experience working with Paul at the Sauk Prairie store. He found the best way to make my project work He asked questions and respected my ideas. He didn’t make me feel clueless. What a great employee!!!

I have been a local customer of this store for years. I truly miss the inventory that Ace Sauk Prairie used to have but understand this is no longer a "Big Ace Store. Unfortunately outside of the Floral Staff and select check out employees I feel there is a definite lack of customer service. I saw an employee helping another customer look for a paint color and thought that while he was already looking it up it would be helpful to him to look for another color for me to save him time. I was dismissed and told pretty rudely I would have to wait until he was done. I work in a customer service role and need to multi task constantly. He should have been trained o handle this better

Called to confirm item was in stock and asked them to hold at register. But when I got there, they can't find where he put it!! This is the 3rd Ace Hardware that Ace's system says they have it in stock, but they can't find it when I get there. Manager at Middleton store said "Ace's inventory system is never right!"
***update***
A couple hours later, they called back saying they found my item, when the person that picked my order came to work and showed them where it was among the other orders, attached to a piece of paper with my name on it. Luckily, I was still at Wollersheim.

I visited Ace Hardware just before closing time and was informed by a staff member that they were about to close. While I understood the time constraints, I felt a bit rushed and uncomfortable when I expressed my need to quickly grab an item. It would have been more reassuring if the staff member had shown a bit more willingness to accommodate my requirement despite the store's impending closure. This experience left me feeling less at ease. I hope that in the future, the store can find a way to balance their closing procedures with accommodating last-minute customers. As a result of this experience, I may explore other hardware stores like Menards for my future needs.
