I stayed there for the Fourth of July week with my son. We had a wonderful time. I was there last year and plan on staying again. The staff are great. I would definitely recommend it to others.
Rooms: The room we had, had a kitchenette which was nice and was able to make breakfast and lunch. It was very convenient with everything you needed to prepare a meal was there. Just brought groceries.
Noteworthy details: We took out the boats that were furnished.

I can't recommend this enough. Beautiful cabin like look & feel to the entire place. But have no fear. Modern amenities. Oh! Except for one thing. An actual KEY for room entry as opposed to the key card you get at most hotels. And I LOVE that! It's the little things you know? You can't get more picturesque with it sitting right on the banks of a lake. Clean. Welcoming staff. We are already at home trying to sort out our next stay here. It's an absolute gem! It's a MUST.

We are so glad that we chose to stay at this Lakeside hotel instead of the optional modern hotel in town. We were greeted by very friendly staff in the office and even chose to rent a pontoon boat during our stay. Our room was small and cute, but it’s exactly what we were looking for. I slept really well also.
The location sells everything, if you’re looking to truly experience Rice Lake this is the hotel to stay at.

Had a great stay in the Ponderosa #21. All the rooms were clean and the beds comfy especially after a day of ice fishing. Would have appreciated more toilet paper and some paper towels but the grocery store is close by. Note: #21 is on the second floor so take the stairs into account.

We arrived to a crabby and angry reception.What was supposed to be a warm romantic getaway wasn't. The man at the desk was more concerned about coffee grounds and if we had any pets and stated over and over that there would be extra charges if this policy or that policy was broken. We felt scared to even open the room door.We asked for extra towels for the jacuzzi and he told us we had plenty. We unfortunately did not.The man did not smile nor say thanks. Unfortunately it ruined it for us.The first bit of warmth we got was from a young lady at checkout. She smiled as we walked in to checkout and heard our concerns. Unfortunately when we asked for some coffee we were denied for some reason. We expected better...especially upon checking in and feeling Welcome. We would suggest some friendly conversation, Make people feel welcome. Smile upon arrival. Keep the coffee going longer. You got the cleanliness part down and you do have a beautiful location.

Rooms were standard and enough for what the 2 of us needed for a quiet getaway. The staff was very pleasant and welcoming. The shared balcony was beautiful to sit on, watch the water, and read a book while enjoying nature. We even saw an otter! We stayed Sat & Sun nights in late October. Sat night there were a few other rooms occupied and the reviews that talk about thin walls are spot on. We could easily hear our neighbors in their room, doors along the corridor opening and closing, dogs barking, etc. Sun night it was just us left and it was glorious.

VERY nice place to stay! Not only was the cabin clean, and spacious enough for the two of us, but had everything we needed for a wonderful nights stay! Also they made it special for us while celebrating our anniversary. I really enjoyed the view from the patio and wished we could have stayed longer. I would absolutely go back and recommend it to anyone who needs a place to stay in the area.

Love the location is amazing. Rates are great for what you get, the rooms are a little dated but not terrible. Love the access to the water with paddle boards, canoes, kayaks etc.
