Called Sportsmans gun department, the phone rang untill someone picked up then hung up on me. The third time I called they put me on hold, finally. When the representative answered I asked if I could buy a gun online from a dealer and have it shipped to them. The person from the department told me yes, just have the dealer call us and we will email the information.
My online dealer called the gun department at sportsmans and gave them their email address.
I waited a week then I asked my dealer if they ever got the fll information, she said no, she will call them again.
This time Sportsmans said to her that they don't do 3rd party transfers. Their website says they do just ask first.... I asked first and was told yes, then after 2 weeks of waiting was told no we don't do that.. don't waste your time and any money on an over grown company that treats customers like they mean nothing.

This place is absolutely AWFUL. I swear not a single person in here has brain cells.
You need anything? “Sorry the guy that does that left for the day”
You need to pickup your order that you placed… guess what? They forgot and you have to go get it yourself.
I would rather drive to gurnee bass pro shop or any other outdoors store than spend another dime at this place.
I once bought a handgun here and the sale price online was $250 and the counter price was $300 and some change. They refused to honor it. They gave me $10 off for my “confusion”
Words cannot describe the disgust I have for this place. The unfortunate thing is they have a lot of what I use, but dealing with these incompetent employees just makes it an awful experience EVERY TIME.

Did an online order and when I ordered it stated next day pick up available but item wasn’t available. Called the store and they hung up on me multiple times. Finally got a hold of someone and she said she was gonna check on my order @9:05 am and it’s now 9:30 still waiting.

I was originally turned onto Sportsman’s Warehouse in Arizona where I lived for the better part of a decade. That used to be one of my favorite stores because everybody there was passionate about the outdoors and answered questions. So the Racine location is what I would consider a glorified storage locker. What they have in stock is often incorrect/out of stock when you arrive. Their selection is limited. Customer service is fair to poor. Orders for in-store pick up take three days to fulfill versus which should be 24 hours. If you call and question what is going on, or raise a concern, you’re told “Now, now don’t do that to me”. Essentially don’t complain in a professional and reasonable manner that you were put on hold three times lasting for more than a half hour and talked to multiple different people for someone to simply check an order. I had to give the order number 5 times. That’s not an exaggeration. Simply just a recent poor experience.
To me, customer service is accepting that there’s an issue, apologizing there is a problem (Does not mean you have to necessarily accept responsibility for the issue but at least recognize that there’s a problem that needs to be resolved), ensure that the situation will be resolved, taking accountability if an error was made, appreciating that someone cared to voice their concern, and maybe improve on issues that are deficient and recurrent. Not hard stuff. Pretty simple to do. Probably shouldn’t warn someone not to voice a dissatisfaction. To be clear, there was no inappropriate language, no elevated volume, No offensive language.
I’m guessing it’s more of a training issue at the leadership/corporate level or really poor hiring practices/standards. Next time I’m going to Dunham's or will oder online with Brownells/MidwayUSA/etc. Given the multiple poor Google/star ratings this appears to be an ongoing problem for this location. It appears I’m not the only one. It is also apparent no one in leadership cares to make the needed changes. If I ran a store, franchise, or business and had that many poor reviews over the past several months I would be fired or my business would be closed. I mean, my goodness, how many negative reviews can you have? I bet leadership doesn’t even read reviews or follow up with them.

I purchased a used overunder shotgun from this location yesterday 11-17 and went hunting the following morning only to find out that only one of the TWO barrels will fire (mind you they keep trigger locks on the guns so there would have been no way to know of this issue before purchase). I then proceeded to call the store immediately after noticing the malfunction and was told to bring it in for the "gunsmith" to look at.
I then brought the gun in at which point the gunsmith "looked" at the gun and told me there was nothing that they can do.
I then spoke with the manager and was once again told they couldn't do anything. no fixing not even a return.
I am now stuck with a gun that I cannot use unless I pay out of my own pocket to fix this issue that should have been fixed before sale or at the very least I could have been made aware of the issue so I could steer clear of the purchase.
I will NOT be returning to this store and will 100% spread the word to everyone I know!

We went to the store to pick up a dog kennel their website said was on sale and instock at this location. Learned it was not when we arrived. There were also additional models that their website stated were in stock, but were not. Additionally they had one model on the floor that said it was “on sale”. It was the same price as their website which was not a sale price. False advertising.
The employee who helped us was nice and did check the back room multiple times which was appreciated.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Went 9nto the store to look at a Remington 870 21in barrel YOUTH shotgun with my son. Went to the back counter to find all three employees laughing it up together with one customer (who was clearly a friend of theirs) Went patiently waited by the register, one guy walks over doesn't say a word, then I say "hey man, do you guys have that 20guage 870 that's online that we could take a look at?" He replies with laughter and a stern "NO" I reply " oh those seem to be hard to find" as he is walking away he says out of frustration "here I'll even look it up for you" I say ok he then says yeah see we only have one and it's a 20 Guage I replied "yeah is it the youth model" he replies "No" and quite literally turns his back and walks away with nothing more said and goes back to chatting it up with his buddies. I went back on the store website verified that it was intact the 21inch barrell youth model. Long story short I always have liked sportsmanswarehouse but I will not be giving them any of my business with people like this working for them. Don't shop here. It's like they prefer employees on work release lol!

I strive to shop local whenever possible; however, Sportsman’s Warehouse made this approach unachievable. Last year I was interested in purchasing a deer rifle and visited their store in Mt. Pleasant, WI. They did not have what I was looking for in stock, so their representative, who clearly had little experience, showed me a different gun because it was “on sale.” It was a model designed for home protection, not hunting. I then asked if what I wanted could be ordered and was told the department manager would contact me. That call never came. Fast forward to this season summer, I attempted to steer business local again. However, this time I ordered a rifle through their website for store delivery. Upon its arrival, there was a paperwork issue upon pickup which the staff was unable to resolve. This started a six week process that included a new department manager assuming the helm. After conversing with him I had some hope; however, from there he did not follow up with me after promising to do so. During this period I was receiving phone calls and emails from other departments within the company. It was clear the right hand was not aligned with the left. Somewhat begrudgingly, I ended up taking my business to a national retailer and the acquisition process was smooth. Hopefully, SW can pull their act together so people like me can support smaller businesses in our area.

I used to love the store. I have spent so much damn money here... I bought a lamp 3 weeks ago. Well the lamp doesn't recharge so I tried to return it. It's only 10 - $15... Of course I didn't keep a receipt or the box because it's a rechargeable lamp. How hard is it. They wouldn't even consider switching it out for the same item. Well I guess I'll just have to buy everything elsewhere because for that little money you've lost all my business.
