Nelson's speed stop has been a great thing for the Poplar area. Employees have been efficient and helpful. I like the old school pictures of the former site and legendary owner.

I visited Nelson's Speed Stop while traveling through on the way back from Amnicon Falls. I thought it would be great to stop for some ice cream. Initially I had a negative experience with the cashier, but was contacted by the owner who was very apologetic and more than made up for the bad experience. It is clear they care about their customers. I really appreciate the follow up and great customer service that was demonstrated by the owner. I will definitely go back and give it another chance.

I will NEVER stop here again. Making the customer go to the bank to break money is not a good sign of customer service. I will be sure to get gas in Superior from now on at Kwick Trip.

I'm from Ashland and this is the only place I stop at on my way to Duluth to get snacks or whatever I may need. The staff is polite and very nice

Very friendly and helpful staff. Fun place to stop and get ice cream. We love sitting in the patio with the cute black and white striped umbrellas in the summer. A hidden gem on highway 2!
