I am very glad to have closed my unit and be done with Red Dot in Pewaukee. There is no human on- site, even during normal M-F business hours. So if you have any trouble like I did (arrived at my new unit to find a wire lock on it) there is no one you can quickly contact. I had a mover with me, on the clock. Luckily he had tools to snip the wire. I emailed Red Dot, and they responded 3 weeks later with a "sorry for the inconvenience". As for the prior unit I had, they gradually raised the rate from $55 to $117, so I closed it and opened a new one. I recommend renting with a locally-operated facility that has staff on-site.

GREAT customer service!The availability and pricing was great, but the ease of renting was awesome. I had to switch unit size and location and the CS agent was beyond helpful and made the whole experience easy and made for an excellent experience. I highly recommend Red Dot!

Red Dot is out of Denver, they will raise your rates every 2 months until you leave, then they start all over again. The storage sizes were all the same size in the building I was in, in the 3 years I was there, I talked to many of the people in the building and they were all paying a different amount!

Do not recommend renting here. I was assigned a unit in the D block section. My unit has a lightswitch to power a lightbulb but it doesn’t work. Spoke with another renter who has a unit in the D block section. He stated that he doesn’t have the ability to use the lightbulb either. We checked with another renter who rents in the E block. He has the ability to use the lightbulb. We then checked with another renter who rents in the F block. Again, they have the ability to use the lightbulb. This means that other blocks have electricity but ours do not. I proceeded to call red dot storage customer service on 10/19/23 about it and whomever I talked with (I believe his name was Shane, Shawn, or Sean) was extremely condescending and rude. After 15 minutes of trying to explain the situation to him and explaining that we have rented at other locations by Red dot storage that had the ability to use lightbulbs, he was still not understanding. I asked for a supervisor. Waited on hold for an additional 20 minutes and the original customer service person came back on the line and said there is no supervisor available. I asked for a supervisor to call back and never ever received a call back. I can now see why red dot storage has a D- rating with the better business bureau (BBB)

DO NOT GET UNIT HERE! Wish I read the bad reviews as they are all similar and true…we got our unit 3 weeks ago and had 1 previous issue with our access code…no biggie however now 5 days before we need everything out of our home the gate has been broken for 24 hours and will be for ATLEAST another 12 hours they say. We work full time and this is our last day to get stuff out of our home. They told us the owner does his own repairs and will be there tomorrow…we pay good money to access our unit 24/7!! Thanks for the $30 credit…that does nothing for my added stress and time.If you look there are many reviews about the gate not working/ access codes. wish I had seen them before I agreed to this place. Not at all happy. Next time I’ll be sure to go to the place that charges $120-$150…you pay for what you get. I will be reporting to the BBB and I recommend anyone else using this place does the same!

My brother using this location and getting access denied messages for one week and gate not opening! he finally got through on phone and was told Could take another week maybe,Need new server??? ReallyAnd no credit issuedWhy not leave gate open until computer issues fixed so people can access !Problem currently same problem now.PLEASE gate open again until problem fixed, now going on 2 weeks can’t openSeems like many code issues reported and tickets opened, IT service is a joke all over , keep the gate open until fixed for customers since they have locks on units and gate chain rusty !Open the gate!

The place is nice and it's 24 hour access but the power in the units only goes on with the outdoor lights so during the day there is no light or power in the unit. If I knew that before I rented here I would have found a different place

I pay about $30 more than other storage facilities in the area because of the secure gate access. The gate has been broken for more than 4 months, and. Everytime I report it I'm told, 'It will be fixed next week.' They do not plow or remove snow on the property. I was advised 'Owner must clear full path to their unit from the front gate.' I have two units, same size I rented a few months apart, they are different rates. Also in one year of renting I've had 4 rate increases. Packed up and moved out. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
