I had my wedding at the Paine on October 12th, and I am SO happy with our choice. We live in Chicago and have no connection to Oshkosh, but I just fell in love with this venue. We had so many questions from family and friends about why we picked the Paine, but once the wedding day was here, EVERYONE told us that they were BLOWN AWAY by how beautiful the venue was and understood why we picked it. Allison, our events coordinator, was also incredible and helped us throughout our planning process and made sure the day of ran seamlessly along with my day-of coordinator. If you are on the fence about picking the Paine for your wedding venue, you will NOT regret it.

Beautiful building, gorgeous gardens, fun children's garden, and a new exhibit every few months.
The elevator is small and off of a narrow hallway. It is difficult for some wheelchairs to access. Otherwise it is perfect.
Been several times.

Beautiful grounds, and as a photographer, the staff is phenomenal to work with.

Absolutely beautiful! As a landscape architect, I mostly enjoyed the gardens but both the inside of the mansion and the rest of the grounds felt like I was stepping back in time.
Employees were all kind and helpful. There are umbrella strollers for toddlers or you can use your own. Easy to traverse with a stroller (or in a wheelchair). I think everything on the property was accessible besides one room.
We loved the children's garden the best. If we lived in the area we would definitely be a member. We spent 3 and a half hours here but could've easily spent more. Bring a book, bring the kids and let them play.

Pretty run down and not well taken care of, the art is folk art in style, but almost every sculpture has been severely damaged and has a large amount of the original composition missing. Most appear to be concrete statues embedded with glass inlays from a variety of sources. It’s odd, because I really appreciated it for what it could have been, but was sad for what it has become.

What a simply enchanting place to visit. The grounds are pristine, the manor house is splendid and the exhibits were breathtaking. The staff were very helpful and every customer experience was thought out and executed spectacularly. We went to see the Oxford insect photography exhibit. That was a joy and fascinating. If their next exhibition is as well done, we may make it a habit of stopping by. Plus, from what I could see, Paine makes a great event space.

Paine Art Center is gorgeous inside and out. The gardens outside are lush and beautiful. The building's architecture is fascinating. Each room or hallway is unique. There are absolutely amazing traveling exhibits at different times of the year. My favorite is the Nutcracker. Check out their calendar of events for upcoming exhibits, plant sales, and other fun things.
You need to pay to go inside. The gardens are free. If it is a special event like the Nutcracker, make sure to buy your tickets online in advance. There are many events with kid free days.

Great rotating exhibits.
I've been to their Hmong tapestry and Rodin sculpture exhibits and both were wonderful. (Rodin was better, as it was incorporated throughout the mansion).
The garden is gorgeous and the mansion is quite interesting.
Lots of spots for stunning photos.
Fall and spring were each its own beauty. I should try it in the summer and winter as well.

We went to see the gardens for the free spring celebration day this year. We have gone many times to the Paine and it never disappoints. Our kids also love going here with us and seeing what other fun things there are to see and do. This year, we found some percussion instruments to play with on one of the paths.
My favorite part of the gardens is the fountain area, but there are tons of things to see and enjoy.
If you are coming for the museum, that also is always a good experience. The history of the mansion is fascinating and if you come for a special event or exhibit, each of the rooms will have something special in them and there are a lot of hidden things to find on your walkthrough.
If you are able to get to the Oshkosh area and haven't checked out the Paine, you should head there at least once!

Not too sure how this place stays open. They never answer the phone or reply to any questions.
