I am writing to bring to your attention a deeply concerning incident that occurred at Vasa Fitness on November 22nd, 2023, at approximately 10:45 pm. I would like to express my disappointment and frustration at the treatment I experienced from a staff member, who I later learned goes by the name of Dan Parker. On that evening, as a paying member, I had just finished playing a few basketball games in the facility's court and was engaged in a conversation with a fellow member. It was at this moment that my acquaintance alerted me to the arrival of an individual who, according to them, had a reputation for ejecting people from the gym. I took notice of this person and noticed their complete lack of any form of uniform or Vasa Fitness branding. Naturally, I inquired if they were indeed a staff member, as their actions and behavior seemed questionable. Before I could complete my sentence, this individual abruptly stormed towards the center of the court and ordered everyone present to show their membership cards. Those who did not possess their cards were threatened with expulsion from the premises. It was both disconcerting and wholly unnecessary to witness this abrasive and disrespectful approach. I expressed my dissatisfaction to my fellow member, questioning the audacity of this individual to enter the gym, disrespect us, and treat us as though we were neither adults nor paying members. I could not comprehend how someone could come into the establishment and belittle us in such a manner. As I observed the path this individual took, I noticed that they had taken possession of the basketball I had brought with me. Sensing an opportunity to understand the situation better, I approached them and inquired about what was transpiring. To my astonishment, they responded by claiming that they had encountered "guns, drugs, and people" they did not wish to have in "their" gym. As the only African American present in the gym at that time, I was taken aback by their racist insinuation, as they labeled me as a "thug" without any basis. What followed was a declaration from this individual that they would be closing the basketball court due to alleged difficulties their staff had faced in removing members from the area. Ironically, this statement was made while one of their staff members was actively engaged in playing basketball with us. I tried to reason with the individual, respectfully requesting them to reconsider their decision, pointing out that it was still 20 minutes before closing time. However, their response was both dismissive and antagonistic, claiming that it was their gym and they could do as they pleased. As the situation escalated, other paying members grew increasingly upset, gathering their belongings and heading towards the exit that led to the baseball court. Seizing the opportunity, I took a moment to search for Vasa Fitness owners and discovered that the CEO is Rich Nelson. I became quite certain that this individual was misrepresenting themselves and misleading us all. When I confronted them with this information, they disregarded my concerns, reiterating that I was the only one with a problem. I emphasized that my willingness to speak up and address the issue did not imply that others did not share my concerns; it simply demonstrated my willingness to advocate for our rights as paying members. Furthermore, I highlighted the inappropriate threats made regarding the revocation of memberships if we did not comply with their demands. I questioned their motive to kick us out and close the gym early, arguing that it unfairly targeted basketball court members while neglecting those in the weightlifting area. Their response, once again, was centered around the notion that it was their gym and they had the right to make such decisions. As tensions continued to rise, I made the decision to leave the premises, ensuring that I documented the encounter by recording the unfolding events. Throughout the recording, I witnessed a complete reversal of the individual's narrative, as they atte

We are provided with plenty of equipment and the environment is slightly uncomfortable at first because there is many people but it is definitely a good gym with excellent fitness programs, the memberships are worth the money. The only complaint I have is that the women’s locker rooms, women’s bathroom, and the women’s showers are always filthy 24/7.

Great gym with a large variety of equipment. Gets busy but most of the gym goers are there to work so waiting for equipment doesn't take too long. Only complaint is the showers and shower curtains often are dirty and need to be cleaned more regularly

Very good all-around gym for the price, and definitely the best in the area. Really hoping they do add more machines and equipment, though. It's near impossible to get a steady workout in during peak times. You're almost always waiting behind a few others for certain machines.

Definitely not a fan. When I moved back to WI, Vasa was one of the first places I actually interviewed as a trainer. The gym is large and as lots of great equipment however, customer service is HORRID. My bank account was found to be under identity theft and they refused to refund me any money AND erase my account information as i needed to remove any accounts that may have had this. The workers at the gym don’t do much about it, nor does customer service help you in anyway shape or form. The gym is always packed, people are gross and the cleaning isn’t as well as it should be (coming from someone who worked in three gyms prior). They will charge you absurd and mounts even for a basic membership, and if you want to cancel? They’ll charge you well close to 200$! Not worth your time.

Everything you could want in a fitness facility. Endless options for strength training, more than ample cardio equipment, and full schedule of classes to name a few. Lighting, temperature and air quality are all very comfortable. Very happy with VASA.

Great gym with more than just workout equipment. They got a pool, baskeball court, sauna, and other things too. But they really need to be open 24/7 or extend the hours or something. Its very busy, a gym this big with this many people needs to be open 24/7.

So good in so many ways. Very reasonable membership tiers, pay-as-you-go (vs. 2 yr commitment at much higher rates for a competing “mega gym”), nice vibrant building layout and facilities (former grocery store / Pick&Save), variety of class offerings, etc.Friendly staff and welcoming environment but not a “social club” - member focus is on TCB. I jumped right in after being mostly “dormant” ? for too long and started working w/ a personal trainer. Jeff H is a great listener and very positive/encouraging. He quickly developed a well rounded personalized plan that was aligned with my “likes”, while also introducing other exercises to help meet my various goals. I have had more expensive memberships at bigger gyms, but this meets all my needs (and then some)…haven’t been this excited to go to “my” gym in a long time!

VASA has a good variety of equipment and i feel like i get a lot for my membership price! the only bad thing is that i barely get to use everything that’s available to me because of how insanely packed it is. there has not been 1 day that i do my planned workout but if you’re willing to wait and pivot, it’s all good! i feel safe and it’s clean for how packed it is.

I have been going here for one month. I was a gym rat at Xperience Fitness in Hales Corners for many years. Being forced to change, I decided to try Vasa in New Berlin. So far, I really like it! Great place! They have a variety of membership prices for all budgets &/or interests.

Dirty. Overcrowded. Parking lot will break your car from the numerous extremely large pot holes. I wonder if they have any plan to fix the hump in the basketball court? That will either cause an injury, or they will shut it down and take 3 months to fix it. No initiative or desire to improve this facility

Pros: Great facility, clean, membership team,Cons: With a $10/month price tag this gym is overly crowded. Ownership has taken the quantity > quality approach. I live in the area and I always see the parking lot jam packed the entire day (opening to closing). The Princeton Club is nearby so I go there now. The facility is better and the gym is open 24/7, never overcrowded...especially if you love to train early mornings.

This is probably one of the best fitted, equipped, and organized gym I've been a member of. The unfortunate reason I have to rate it so lowly though, is that it's so consistently full that it's almost unusable. It's almost not worth bothering to go on a Monday or Tuesday night. At this point I only go on weekend mornings and around 6 am on weekdays, and it's still so busy I often can't find a bench or the equipment I need. It's very unfortunate, but they're still running promotions to get more people signed up and the gym even more packed over the last three months.

I used to absolutely love this place. Then experience closed and the place blew up. You have to wait at least 5-10 minutes to use any machine/ weights.. Asked workers and emailed corporate if they were going to extend hours or build a new location and I got 0 response.

This facility is not my cup of tea because of the business and over stimulating environment however they have every machine needed to get a full body workout . They have heavy weights, cables a numerous machines for cardio and an open area for whatever activity such as lunges running stretch. It's a big area. They have specific rooms as well and offer the hydro massage chairs. I personally do not like the crowd but for someone who doesn't this would be a great gym to go to for a good price.
