Our youth group recently used Lake Lucerne for a Teen Retreat, it was such a wonderful weekend! This was our second time here and I can’t thank the staff enough for such a flexible and welcoming atmosphere. When working with the teens the camp director was able to change up on the drop of a hat if they wanted to do something else or if the the weather wasn’t going to work for us, it was well communicated and rearranged efficiently. The camp director and all camp staff is friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our group had a good time and had everything we needed. Can’t wait to come back again soon!If anyone has any complaints about this camp they are truly not enjoying their experience or communicating their needs. Thank you Lake Lucerne Staff!!

Keep in mind, their Youth Lodge accommodates about 30 people but there was only one residential refrigerator. We rented the entire kitchen for one day and were told there was a large group coming in the day we were leaving. We left our food and cooking utensils in the kitchen for the day and noticed the Camp had allowed the next group to drop off whatever they needed in the kitchen we rented. We returned back to see a bunch of food and supplies from the next group. Their kitchen does not come equipped at all and their stove and oven does not work. The camp director then said he wanted to meet the entire group early Saturday morning at 9am but did not show until 9:45am, and we had booked our beach session for 10am. He expected us at the beach by 10:15, arrived around 10:20 then they went over rules and we finally got to swim at 10:45 but had to be out of the beach by 12:15. Rules were ridiculous. In order to swim in deep end, you had to pass a swimming test but once passed, only deep end swimmers are REQUIRED to wear life jackets. And no one was allowed in the deep end if one of the two life guards had to help kayakers (from our group) which at one point, the camp director randomly paddled out into the lake for 15 mins while all the kids had to get out of the deep end.We booked archery for the kids but were told there was a storm coming in so we had to move to it Sunday.Sunday morning while trying to communicate about archery, we were told by the camp director that he would like us to check out by 11am (checkout is at 3pm) so the staff can clean and prep the Youth Lodge for their next group.Archery, they had 1 staff and nothing was set up. One of the adults from our group helped the staff set up and then the staff ran some rules by our group, which killed about 20 minutes. This was probably one of the most disappointing camp sites we have been too. They advertise about all the activities but none of the activities were open unless they had a staff present at a scheduled time based on the staff's availability. The camp director was very untimely and it was beyond disrespectful and unprofessional to tell us to leave before the usual checkout time JUST so they can accommodate their busy week ahead.

I have spent time at this site as a camper, as a retreat leader, as a board member, as a pastor. I consistently return because of not only the natural beauty and comfortable facilities, but the helpful and caring staff.

I recently attended a retreat at the Lucerne Camp/Retreat Center and had an excellent experience. The staff and site director were friendly and attentive. Facilities are well-maintained and comfortable (compared to other camps I've visited). I was impressed with the reasonable cost, the quality of the meals as well as the staffs attention to safety and security.I recommend the camp to only to people who want a quality Christian camping experience!

Stay for the week, leave with lifelong memories and a renewed sense of faith. This camp is so dear to so many, in a setting that combines a rustic in-the-woods experience with contemporary Christianity. My third grade daughter just got home from camp and recounted the following highlights of her stay: a nightly fire with all the campers; trick or treating in July; archery; water yoga; night games; prayers in the chapel; outdoor scripture study; and making many new friends in her cabin. Thoughtful program planning and staff training goes on year-round to make sure campers of all ages, families, and retreat groups have the best experience possible during their time at Lake Lucerne. Don't hesitate to sign up your child or yourself for a stay at this well-run camp!

Some locals were swimming across the lake and ran out of breath.they asked me for help. I had them hang onto my boat and I pulled them to the camp ground so they could walk home, but the staff refused to help and let them walk to the road. I had to pull them all across the lake. Their staff follow the rules but they take their job too seriously. people could have drown. They have no decency.

This will be my sixth year leading a spring women's retreat at Lake Lucerne. What started as a small group event for the women of our church has grown to include women from all over the state. The camp staff have contributed to that growth. They are friendly and very accommodating, helping throughout the year with planning and making sure we are well taken care of when we are there. It is great to see the familiar faces each time. As site director, Collin has shown both care and concern for campers going the extra mile to help make our women's retreat a success. We certainly look forward to coming back to camp for many years to come.

I had the honor of being a Chaplain at Lake Lucerne and Pine Lake Camp before my ordination. It was an experience that greatly changed my life. Camp is where you meet God face to face. I have maintained my contact with the camp by serving on the Board of Camp and Retreat Ministries. I am extremely proud of the way our Camp Directors have made improvements to the camps. Collin and Nick work hand in hand to make this the best camping experience that can be provided. Thanks to all the staff who make these camps a great experience for all who come.
