Can be rude or abrasive to customers. I've seen it happen and it's happened to me. If you must ship UPS, recommend you find an alternative store for that. Otherwise, US Postal Service is just down the road and less expensive.
FOLLOWUP to Owner response: Nope, not mischaracterizing. I came in to drop off a return, you were unable to scan a barcode on a label saved as a PDF and instead wanted to print out the label and charge $2 for that. OK. For whatever reason, both TMobile and your store wifi would not upload the PDF (4mb) after I was told to try to send to your email address. I verified your email address a couple of times with your employee, showed him the entry and he approved. Yet it stalled somewhere in communicating with Google's servers. He then wanted me to hand over my cell phone so he could do something with it, and when I politely declined, he became short with me saying "I'm just trying to help, man" in a rude tone. He said this twice then disappeared stranding me there at the counter, at which point you inserted yourself into the conversation from across the store announcing you had sent an email to yourself, inferring that the problem must be me. When I pointed out I had tried to do the same, you told me I was becoming angry (I wasn't) and your poor employee was flustered. And now, here you are, becoming argumentative with me - and proving my point - when the right response is "We are so sorry this happened, let us try to make it up to you in the future". You followed this up with a snide email response to me this morning, saying "glad you figured out your phone". Pro tip: snide enjoinders from service vendors after they fail to provide a service are not warmly received.
This poor treatment of customers I've seen before in your store while standing in line and is why you have racked up 3 *other* 1 star reviews in the past three months alone.
I stand by my recommendation for my Local Guide viewers: seek out an alternative to your UPS shipping needs in Monona, and save yourself the time.

I'm from Minneapolis & needed to send box to my grandchildren. UPS store was so easy to get my package delivered. All I did was box it up and pay and it was delivered in 3 days! Definitely recommend this service!

I’ve been doing Amazon returns here for years and would have given them 5 stars in the past. I always come in with the QR code ready to show the clerk, so I’m not wasting their time. A few weeks ago, I had one small item to return. It was a Saturday, the store was empty, and I had the code ready as usual. The one person (manager?) working there proceeded to rag on me about how I was supposed to use the self-service kiosk. My husband was very ill and I just wanted to get the package returned without having to figure out how to use the kiosk, so I said I’d rather not use it. That seemed to anger him and he told me that it was soon going to be mandatory. He did process my return, but he kept ragging on me until I was out the door. This UPS store is ultra convenient for me, but I will take my future returns to Kohls, where they are always pleasant to customers. And here’s a lesson to shop owners — one really bad experience is all it takes to ruin your rating.

First time I’ve used this UPS store location before. I normally use the one on commercial ave I believe. I’ve been doing Amazon returns for years.
Today my experience at this location was jaded. I came in with three packages that need to be shipped for Amazon returns. I asked for some tape to secure the boxes I had brought in.
When I asked the store associate if they had tape he pointed to the wall where I could purchase tape. I asked, do you not have a tape gun. The associate then told me if I was paying for packages to be sent he would offer tape; but wasn’t going to give me any if my packages were Amazon returns and considered “free”.
I purchased a $7.37 roll of tape to which I only used about 2 strips which averaged to about 2ft. The associated took one of the three boxes and wrapped it for me after I purchased the tape saying “I got this one”.
I could see if I came in with 20 pkgs that all need to be taped. I’ve never had an issue with bring the boxes in like that but perhaps COVID has made it hard times on this UPS store and they can’t be giving out tape all Willy nilly. Needless to say it is disappointing to have to drop $7.37 to ship free shipping items.
Will definitely not be returning to do any business here.
However on the upside; if this happens again at another location I will still have tape in my car to which I have no use other than to tape packages that need to be returned to the UPS store. Thank you for
Since I can’t leave a new review I’m going to edit my response to rebuttals to your comments. Your simple mansplaining to me of a line that says only “customer package” doesn’t not validate your response to my review. I have been retuning packages to ups and thru Amazon for quite sometime so I am familiar with the policies. Hence why I brought the packing without tape as I’m assuming other people have (based on your one star reviews) not expecting to have to buy tape. Other stores will share tape at no cost as the other reviews have stated too. This is clearly your personal policy which is fine because it is your store. Just don’t hid behind Amazon’s “package” policy.
All you need to do was say the tape was expensive; instead of giving me the response (which was poor customer service on your part) you gave me. You could even create a small surcharge instead of making people by a whole roll of tape they won’t need.
But again based on the one star reviews it sounds like you are a deflector.

I have had a good experience in this store previously but today, i walked in to print some documents and there was a lot of patrons so the attendants didn’t look very excited to have to get on the computer for the print job. I can understand this given that they were trying to serve everyone in a timely manner, however, because of this, they printed 20 copies of my documents twice, each time with mistakes. I asked one of the clerks if I could keep the documents with mistakes on them (although I cannot really use them) first, because my face, name and contact info were printed on them and second, because I might be able to repurpose them instead of just wasting them. The guy said no because it is «expensive to print 20 color copies ». I answered, that the price was kind of irrelevant since they were gonna throw them out, and asked if I could at least get a substantial discount for them. He talked to the owner of the store and offered me a 50% discount. At 64 cents a copy, i would still be paying 15$ for documents I cannot use so this was too much, even more so considering that they were going to throw them away. The papers I had in my hands had no value to them because of their own mistake, so why charge me 15$ for them? I then told the clerk if they weren’t going to give me the documents and put them in the trash, to at least shred them. He, again, proceeded to tell me how expensive this was, and that he refused to give me the documents even though I had asked him to shred them. I was getting irritated by his arrogant demeanour, acting as if I was trying to get freebies while all of this was caused by their fault (he even tried to convince me that the problem was the document when I had shown him the PDF file on my phone which showed up exactly how it needed to look). If they are so concerned about not wasting their expensive resources, why don’t they a) print out one test first and b)allow the used paper not to go to waste? It just made no sense. The owner ended up telling him to give me the bad copies after I wasted 30 minutes of my day waiting for them to just print a document right. I thought it was such a ridiculous situation that it deserved a bad review and for sure never going back there and just go accross the street to Staples for smooth and easy printing with no mistakes and no arrogant clerk. Seriously, I printed my stuff perfectly over there in under 5 minutes with better quality prints.

Terrible customer service. Employee wouldn’t take Amazon return because it apparently wasn’t packaged correctly. I didn’t realize that I had made a mistake, but your staff were sure to let me know. I went to a different UPS store and they helped me sort it out (without the rude and oddly confrontational tone that I experienced in your store).

Horrible horrible horrible! Worst ever customer service, assistant manager would t even help me look up the account and just told me to go somewhere else. Absolutely shocked! UPS HE sensitivity training required here. Wanted me to pay by card and charge me more than my account.

Wouldn’t take Amazon return because box has a handle sticking out of it….. tried selling me a new $22 box saying a bag just wouldn’t cut it. Other ups store took it without question.

I rarely write reviews but I always have the best experience here. The customer service is unmatched. Chad specifically is incredibly kind, calm, and just overall very helpful and accommodating. I had to ship 19 small packages all across the country and a couple internationally and Chad handled it like a pro. He didn’t make me feel like a burden or inconvenience at all. He deserves a raise. Thank you!

I use that location for all of my shipping needs, at every visit there the people helping me have ALWAYS been super helpful, kind, patient and always have smile on their faces. Also I have never had to wait for service, as far as I have experienced that has been the way other customers have been treated also.
