I was driving from Chicago to Minneapolis and was having issues with warning lights that didn't seem to make much sense. I stopped to add some air (as one light seemed to tell me I needed to), but the place I stopped at in Beloit didn't have a gauge to measure the PSI, so I had no idea how much I was adding, so of course, the light came back on shortly after I got back on the road. It was already dark, and I seriously considered turning around and missing the funeral in Minneapolis the next morning.However, I as I was nearing Madison, I decided to pull off the freeway in Madison at a place where there's a Cousin's and a Walgreen's right across from each other as I wanted both, and I saw this place nearby. I pulled in and they were sympathetic to my situation. They got me in immediately and made sure all of my tires were at the proper PSI (and yes, I had overfilled a couple). I was back on the road in no time and made it to Minneapolis without issues. The peace of mind was well worth the $5.00 they charged me. I wish I hadn't just filled up or I would have gotten gas, too.

Our first time here! After Wayne's closed, we didn't know where to go for no-ethanol gas. We pulled up and they pumped the gas for us! Friendly and quick.

Great shop! Have used them on multiple cars. Tell them what makes noise and they fix it.

My aunt took her vehicle in for an oil leak. Not only was she overcharged( based on labor times and labor rate for this shop), but they didn't even bother cleaning the area that they were fixing. When I asked there response is that they don't do that. Having been in the field myself, cleaning the old oil is standard, for many reasons, but at the end of the day it's common courtesy. Again, I don't know what their mark up is on parts but when you're charging $50 for 1 bolt, something is wrong. Would not recommend you go there unless you want sub-par services for dealership prices.

Never had a poor enough experience to write a bad review until today. I’ve been to Schwenns here and there for service between work and personal vehicles. Each time I’ve tried to give them another chance as they are local and friendly people. I’ve always gotten my vehicle back later than what was told to me, not terrible but I always have to call to find out what’s going on. Today was no different for that but they also put in the wrong oil after being told a few times what kind I would like. Also told my zerk fittings weren’t taking grease. Not sure why I wasn’t called to get that fixed too or why it wasn’t taken care of. I was told I could leave it there after paying and realizing something was wrong. Need to use it and it’s been sitting around at the shop all day for an oil change and tire rotation. Was told I can come back in for full synthetic by the owner after their other member hung up the phone on me.

"the pulse of Monona" Yes Schwenn's gas station.Full service non-ethanol two grades of fuel with three bays and knowledgeable staff.Pull in and get some non-ethanol 87 for whatever you're driving plus your recreational equipment that doesn't require premium. However, if it does they have the best price on premium as well.Stop in and find out five stars.By the way Kurt is a great mechanic and can do pretty much any job you throw at him. Thanks Doug and staff.

This crew is the best. I've had a lot of work done there (some small maintenance and a couple larger repairs) and they are knowledgeable, honest, reasonable, timely, friendly and funny while being straightforward and thorough. I trust them completely and they have taken great care of me and my vehicle. I would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone.

My 20 year old daughter was visiting her friend in Madison for the weekend when her alternator went out on a Friday night. Being in a new area with a major car repair is a scary thing. I reached out through a work Facebook group for help and connected with a nice woman who recommended Schwenns. She lived in the Madison area and gave me the phone number and address. The tow truck dropped the car off at 2 am , I spoke with one of the mechanics at 8am (Saturday )and the car was repaired by noon! Can't say enough about how happy we were that they were open on a Saturday and was able to provide fast service. Thank you again Schwenn Auto shop!

Most honest and knowledgeable auto place you’ll find! Been going there since was 16 when my first car (a lemon) had every problem you could imagine. Doug and his team took care of me and my car like I was one of their own. 25 years later, it’s still the same trustworthy and knowledgeable place.

I'd been told by Jiffy Lube on Eagan Rd. that my car's axle was going, and couldn't say how long it might last. So I brought it to Schwenn's, who looked at it right away and pronounced nothing wrong with it. Didn't even charge me much of a hoist fee to inspect it. Many thanks to them for their honesty and efficiency!

I would not recommend these place to anybody I don't think they're very honest In my opinion they seem kind of shady in my opinion. They have no issues with cussing and swearing at a woman. Using the f word seems to be a big part of their vocabulary I understood today. As the man was screaming and swearing at me out the window. I guess they feel if they overpower a woman verbally and louder that that makes them more manly. If I were a woman I would not go there I don't think you would be safe to do so as a woman I truly think they would look at you as a target and see how many ways they can take advantage of you would be in my guess. I know my gut and instincts tell me do not go there thankfully I have I've come across them and their behavior without having to pay money first. And from what I've seen and been told they owe lots for parts that haven't been paid for well before Corona. So customers beware my assumption is that's probably not a good sign. Usually people that owe in that kind of business want to take from somebody else.
