I Travel the country and this is a Model Location ...
Out of ALL the Planet Fitness Locations in the Madison area, Monona, is the very Best!
I work Healthcare and Im off a 13 hour shift sometimes 2 or 3 am in the morning midweek, and I can Always Count on someone being at the counter at the Monona Location to Allow me to Tan, use the massage chairs, and set my time up on the hydro beds ...
and they are always FRIENDLY here ... Never any attitude, and I never have to Hunt around the club in the middle of the night for an attendant when Im exhausted, and Just want to Tan or whatever.. like I have to in the ~Other~ locations in the Madison area..
& I stay in Windsor & I drive right on by the other Locations so that should tell you something ...
so Thankyou Monona Planet Fitness!
Because of you, I can SLEEP at night, Tan, and Without any Back pain ...

The hours work for me. It's clean, the staff is friendly, they have a variety of equipment/machines, and I love the massage chairs/hydro-beds.

This place is one of the best across all country. I am a truck driver and have been many Planet Fitness locations across our country. This is clean fresh new and the showers are clean and kept in good shape. The showers here is like not many places have , with huge shower heads and additional shower coming out of sidewall. The equipment is well maintained and kept clean. The ladies and gents who work here are nice and pleasant! Thank you for making it nice and comfortable. For truck drivers it means a lot a fresh and hot shower along with some exercise and what else you can with for ?

I’ve been coming here for almost 2 years now, and the gym is always clean and has lots of good equipment. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because I recently had my wallet stolen out of my locker here. There is someone in the men’s locker room stealing stuff.

i like pf because their's always enough machines for everyone- even during peak hours. and they have plenty of locations so i can always get a workout in even if im traveling. clean facility & friendly staff.

Judgement free zone. Lots of equipment to use. Certain times of the day are busier than others, but generally cam get through a whole workout without waiting on others to use the equipment

Watch your stuff here. I had a very good friend get their stuff stolen from their locker while they were working out. Their security cameras DO NOT work and is 100% for show. They are complicit in every deal and are for themselves and not the people trying to better themselves.
UPDATE: as you can see the Club responded in typical fashion. My friends locker was raided in a 45 minute period as they worked out and their security cameras OUTSIDE of the locker room (duh) were not functioning whatsoever. Police report has already been filed and Planet Fitness was no help at all, as they let anyone in there. Let me say that again — FOURTY-FIVE MINUTE PERIOD and you’re telling me cameras can’t focus in on a perp. Data speaks for itself here folks. Over $1,000+ plus in credit cards purchased immediately after theft was completed. Take your business to an establishment that looks out for people and bettering themselves.

Love this gym. It has never been overly crowded, is very clean, everyone minds their business, and staff are friendly and helpful.
I bring my service dog in training to the gym with me and not once has staff or gym goers bothered me or my dog.
Heart rate monitors on some of the machines are inaccurate, reporting a much higher BPM than I actually have. But that's a non-issue for me personally. I bring my own heart rate monitor that is accurate.
