I was recently on the hunt for the peace and solace of a Modelo Tall Can when I had the dire misfortune of finding a Minocqua “Moto Mart”.
Upon what first miraged as the perfect answer to my mission, the mart even stocked my elixir. However, the evil trolls of Moto Mart had me snared. Upon exchange of credentials verifying our age. The under-experienced attendants quickly flashed a black light, shouting gleefully “Fake!”, as though they had hit gold. This righteous claim further pyrited by my response explaining “it’s out of state, scan it.”
Understandably confused by this, the two left their common sense behind and issued an outrageous objection. “We’re keeping them.” To so boldly incriminate oneself after incorrectly assessing the ID’s with such confidence further damaged the reputation of the establishment.
After informing the attendants that the ID’s are real and we need them, they offered us the door, prizeless. Frustrated, and not wanting to cause further undo confusion to the unqualified staff, we parted with only wasted time.
Down the road we stopped once more and our ID’s were scanned and the purchase accepted.
Thank you Moto Mart, you give Minocqua a great reputation

I’ve never had issues at this location before, until this year. The employees were extremely rude when attempting to purchase alcohol, even though I wasn’t purchasing alcohol, just in the store with my family, I still gave them my ID.
The two clerks at the counter spent one second looking at our ID’s with a blacklight (?) and then said all four of them were fake. This was my Real ID I had just gotten a few weeks before. I knew my birthday and recited it for them without being asked. Still, they were extremely rude even though it was my Real ID, and attempted to keep my ID, which is ILLEGAL. I had to force them to give my ID back.
Beyond this issue, their store smelled AWFUL, like something sweet had gone rotten. There were a lot of potholes in their parking lot, and the employees leering, cocky attitude definitely contributed to the negative atmosphere. Honestly, I think this Moto Mart would do a lot better without these two employees, as from other family members I have heard that this has been an issue in the past. They are losing their store business more than just one or two times, which I can’t imagine is a financially helpful practice.
The fact that they attempted to keep my brand new Real ID from me was the worst part. I needed it to drive.
Will be telling my friends and family to go to the next gas station down the street— they were much kinder and the store didn’t smell awful!

The staff here are friendly and helpful. I filll up the car, boat, atv all season long here. Good gas prices and friendly staff and well stocked store..beer, ice, etc! Nice job..keep it up and I'll see ya next season!

This is my go to gas station. Grab a gallon of water to prime the pump, milk in a pinch, and free tire air with enough pressure to actually inflate a tire. Thanks for always being there. (I can remember driving here to call my high school sweet heart back in the'80s from the pay-phone. ;0)

Worst gas station I’ve been to since the pandemic has started. Even with the state mandate and signs posted- no workers had masks on, and floors and fridge handles were very dirty. I would never go to this gas station again. Very disappointed.
