Volunteering at United Way on Pleasant St. is always a pleasure. Everything is clean and welcoming. The parking is conveniently located next to the volunteer entrance.

The parent organization, United Way, has had the proverbial checkered past. Not just in general, not just in history and not just in the news, but in my own experience. I worked for not one, but two corporations that forced us to donate to United Way and I wasn't making much money at either place. But that wasn't here in Milwaukee and a couple of my favorite charities are connected to United Way of Greater Milwaukee and it turns out even here at their headquarters you can come and volunteer and in exchange you can get a good feeling and free coffee. They provide training for charities under their umbrella and they often post information about charitable fund raising events coming up. The place is also a good venue for a medium size meeting when they don't have something going on, it's an historic building that's recently had an excellent renovation.

Was there for a pancake breakfast for volunteering for an event . They always have openings if you would like to volunteer for an event .
