I have worked with Kate and her team on various home projects for over a decade. She is incredibly talented, but humble and a genuinely kind person -- a rare gem and the best in the industry in my opinion. The Home Market is filled with home inspiration and the most beautiful items. A must-stop shop.

My wife recently purchased two pieces of art from The Home Market website for $172. Excited to pick these up, we took off work and made the half hour drive to the Third Ward. Upon arrival we were told not only that they did not have the items we purchased, but that our new price would be $567. It would also require ten weeks to be delivered. The store's explanation is that they incorrectly described the product and intended to sell a smaller version. That may very well be true...we can provide the benefit of the doubt. However, the act of listing a product and us paying for it constitutes a contract that both parties entered into. A contract that The Home Market has failed to uphold. We do not ask for any special treatment. Simply that the product we purchased be provided to us at the price that was agreed to. Companies often make mistakes. It is simply a cost of doing business. At best, The Home Market acted unethically. At worst, it is employing bait and switch tactics. We dealt directly with the owner during this encounter so these are not the actions of a poorly trained staff member. No accomodation was made. Some excellent alternatives would be Birchwood Wells in Cedarburg, Summer Made in Lake Geneva, and Inspired in Milwaukee. Those shops have always acted with integrity and we will be steering friends and family to them.

Kate, owner of The Home Market, as well as Hannah, are so efficient at getting fabric samples sent right to your home so you can place your order quickly. What is unique about Kate's store is the vast selection of Schumacher fabrics and wallpaper. Kate selects fabrics, chairs, sofa's, pillows that carry a fresh, updated look. It only gets better as she carries upscale furniture brands such as Hickory Chair and Lee Industries.

If this is your price range you might like it. This wasn't really a home goods store, but more like a store for rugs, pillows, and couches. It's pretty small, but they have a lot of nice items. $180 dollar their pillows aren't what I'm looking for unfortunately!

I had an awesome experience with my first purchase at The Home Market. I was looking for custom signage for my parent's cabin as a gift for my mom. Cathryn helped me figure out exactly what I wanted. She also set proper expectation as to when my signs would arrive, and made sure to follow up with me to keep me up to date on the status of my order. My mom loved the design of her sign so much, that she went back to the Home Market right away to order a customized one for my Dad.
