First, if I could give this store 0 out of 5 stars for customer service, I would. Here are the details of my experience:I went in on Saturday, reached an area, near the register, by the ornament display. There was a box of ornaments (approximately 100+), all priced, and on the sales floor. I looked through the box. 5-10 minutes passed by, and a cashier (receipt said her name was Xitlali) came up and slid the box out from my hands and said, "Those are not for sale." I was startled. I said kindly, "Would it be okay if I purchase one or two more from the box since they match this set that I've found?" Most of the set was out on the display, but I'd noticed a few more in the box. The cashier didn't allow it. I went to the register. The same cashier was there, and I asked if I could speak with a manager about purchasing the ornaments. She pointed to a man.I went over to the manager (Mark), explained the situation, and he got the box for me to purchase the ornaments. I said, "Thank you." I put the box behind the register, went over to the manager and again said, "Thank you. I appreciate this very much."I went to the register, the same cashier that had witnessed the manager approve my request, started hastily scanning my items. She didn't say one word to me. When asked which card reader to insert my credit card, she angrily tapped on the computer screen to process the transaction (still not saying anything), tore the receipt from the register, and said, "Here is your receipt." The only sentence she spoke to me. I said, "Please, you don't have to be rude to me." As the cashier started to reply, the manager swooped in and said, "Don't make this into something it's not." I said, "Excuse me? Your cashier has just been rude to me, and I'm in the wrong?" He said, "That's from your perspective." I thought to myself, what business would treat a customer this way?Mark continued to say disrespectful, uncourteous things for minutes. He implied that the situation was my fault for reaching out to him in the first place. However, when Mark acknowledged and honored my request to purchase the ornaments he (either intentionally or unintentionally) affirmed that my request was not outside of any store policy. If he didn't want me to purchase the ornaments, he should have stated so, and I would have accepted it. Additionally, it is my understanding that one role of a manager is customer service issues.Throughout the verbal conflict, Mark continued to defend his employee, thereby acknowledging, in front of the customer, that her actions were an acceptable form of customer service. He did not ask for the details of the situation from my perspective, what could be done to rectify the situation, or offer any form of apology. After several minutes, I had had enough and asked for his supervisor. He stated he didn't have one and gave me a name and number at the Administrative Office. As soon as I left the store, I called and left a message, indicating I wanted to file a complaint. I have not received a call back.To be clear, I understand these are just items. But, I also didn't ask for the disrespect that I received from Mark and his employee. Unacceptable, and I have no doubt this conflicts with the mission of St. Vincent de Paul to build a more just and charitable society.Edit to the manager's response:1) The manager's accusation is false. I did not yell at the cashier; I did not even raise my voice to her. I simply said, "Please, you don't have to be rude to me," in regards to the lack of customer service she was providing during my transaction. It had nothing to do with her refusal to let me purchase the items. If anything, the cashier was combative WITH ME when I called out her rudeness.2) In his response, you can see that he is not apologetic for the disrespect he showed me. He apologized for my bad experience (after it was called out publicly), but not for his words and action

I don’t want to support goodwill but the donation center here doesn’t have the same hours as the store it’s attached to and they close way to early by the time I get off work it’s closed. So I guess I’m forced to donate to goodwill.

Periodically like coming here to see if I can find deals lately its been very disappointing the prices are just seemed a little high I was looking at towels they want like to $3 & brand new towels you can get at Walmart for the same so example like that just a little off don't really see a lot of deals or advertisements to 50% off are items that already should of been that price for the beginning. It feel really dated the workers there most of them are pretty nice and courteous there's just one young lady who's very very awesome with her personality and very inviting spunk. Their furniture is overly priced, the arrangement of all.the items is not very inviting. I feel the store itself could use a fresh new make over and review on the pricing policy. I totally understand that items are donated, proceed to help the community. However, the people shopping at their store is part of the community that is in need so for me personally, pricing reasonable for items would be more fair. That's my opinion. I will always stop by periodically to see if something catches my eye. Maybe the future new ideas will help lift the atmosphere.
