What the actual f? I've never seen a worse run store and I saw a show about how bad Family Dollar gets. Staff needs to get off their high horse. Often one cashier for a line of people going around the entire store. Rats. Homeless ppl begging for booze money. Teenagers getting treated like slaves or else being let run around doing nothing. Security up in everyone's face yet somehow on their phones not working at all. Disgusting.

the lines are horrendous! the lines will extend all the way from the front to the middle of the store ! I tried to check out in liquor and turned me away. the guy in front of me checked out with no liquor so i dont get the reasoning. I had 4 items not a whole cart full . It's like they pick and choose who can check out in the liquor department

They have the worst customer service that I have ever experienced at a Supermarket! They seem as if they are not trained to be nice and quite frankly I have had rude encounters the three times that I have gone in to buy things. There is a limited variety of food so this makes it a market that you go to when you forget something small. They do a good job with keeping the store clean, and bright so it was easy to find what you need, if they carry it. But the lack of customer service skills is what is a deal breaker for me. They are all rude, like really rude. Save yourself the trouble and go two blocks down to Pick and Save!

Whenever I use the self checkout it often has a clutch. Always a couple not working. They always say I'm doing it wrong. I'm a self checkout geek. I'm not doing it wrong lolAs far as the store goes it's pretty goodOne thing though. I buy plums there and the fruit at Fresh Tyme are way better. More expensive tooThe store employee Rachelle is awesome. She always does a great job and really takes care of her customers. She has been there a while too.

I have lived downtown for 8 years and Metro Market has steadily declined. Really sketchy, possibly even dangerous, clientele which has led to liquor being guarded by a staff person and a regularly stationed police officer (in addition to an employees security guard). Chronically long lines and almost no staffed checkout lanes - a recent review's photo is very typical. Time to find a new go-to.

In A Nutshell:-Metro Market was a great grocery store right across the street from The Plaza Hotel.-The convenience played a crucial part since I was able to buy snacks, fruit & prepped meals like salmon or stuffed cabbage.-They also have a nice selection of wine & Wisconsin cheese.-What interesting fact was that I attempted to buy wine just after 9pm but they wouldn't let me b/c its not legal after 9pm.Overall, I really enjoyed stopping inside this grocery on a daily basis for all my needs.

For a higher end grocery store the customer service has sadly declined over time to be poor at best. Called the bakery department from within the store because no one was out front in the bakery to assist customers only to have the cake decorator who was apparently in the store tell me they would not take cake orders for at least two weeks. Then went to the "service desk", which was also unattended, to ask for a manager. After flagging down multiple people who had no clue was directed to someone who apparently was in charge who said the manager was on leave. He clearly didn't want to deal with me as an unhappy customer and just kept saying they don't have the people. If you don't want to be in the customer business then don't be. Sadly we all have to buy groceries so I guess we are just stuck with whatever pitiful service you want to provide and there's nothing we can do about it. Just sad!

Easily one of the worst grocery stores I've ever experienced. It's organized like an obstacle course, a maze (or a suburb). You have to zig-zag, allow folks to pass, squeeze past displays, etc. just to move through the store. So much merchandise, yet many shelves are empty. The self-serve areas of the store, especially the deli, hot food, bakery, and salad bar, can be filthy at times. I don't think there is much monitoring of the areas, so I worry about contamination, germs, etc. Prices have gone up 10-40% or more on most goods (if they are in stock) in the past 4 years, yet, quality has gone down. There are so many young people working there, yet, they still have empty shelves, only one or two cashiers when the store is busy, so long lines form, no one collecting carts for customer use, and, let's be honest...multiple security officers, Milwaukee police officers near the exits and survey the store. Is this a grocery store or San Quentin? We're getting ripped off when we buy needed items because of price gouging, yet the store is armed like Fort Knox so it doesn't get 'ripped off' by the few people who try to steal a few items to eat or drink. Horrible corporate citizen operating with horrible management in my opinion. Another one.

We bought a 6 dollar rotisserie chicken. We were so excited for this chicken. Only to find it to be the driest, flavorless, sad excuse for a chicken. Absolutely so seasoning, no juices in the bottom, did not fall off the bone. And no amount of salt or pepper was going save us. There was a slight taste of cardboard. The color was a bit pink, which was confusing since it was dryer than the Sarah dessert in the summer. Conflicting instructions about reheating. Everything else we bought today was great

We rented an Airbnb very close to this place and needed a few things so we thought we'd give it a shot. Frankly I was concerned because of some of the negative comments on Yelp. They seem pretty unjustified to me. We found the store to be clean and well stocked. It is particularly good for a quick, fully prepared meal. Some of the food was quite tasty, some not so much. But there is a wide selection of options. Yes, it is a bit expensive, but much cheaper than the surrounding restaurants. We bought dinner and some kitchen staples. The self checkout was easy and efficient. Yes, we would shop here again without any question.

This store has went soooooo far down hill. employees are rude and anyth but helpful. frequently see shoplifting happening and Management does nothing about it. And we wonder why prices go up??? Paying customers pay for shoplifting! I will never go to this store ever again.
