The staff is so kind and helpful. Very welcoming and found beautiful picks that I would have never otherwise found. Really glad we stopped in. Would recommend. What a great selection and even some good sitting area!Edit - one month laterI am reducing my rating because I returned and had a strange experience. At the end of my visit I was told 10 min till close (by an unfriendly man) then when I went to check out the woman was rushing and was rude. It wasn't even 6 (closing time yet) she ended up ringing up my purchase incorrectly and it was a whole debacle to get it fixed. Really great store but the staff this time was far from my inital experience. Unfortunate.

Wonderful bookstore. I also have to note that this is the most reliable shop I’m aware of in Milwaukee for quality greeting cards. As a man, it’s incredibly difficult to find stationery that is gender-neutral, let alone content that isn’t just generally corny. Highly recommend.

What a great book store! Love the feel and atmosphere of this local book shop. They carry a great mix of classics and new interesting reads. The small review and recommendation cards below books are so helpful for finding new interesting books and authors. We also especially love going here and getting recommendations for books for our kids. Boswell’s staff have introduced us to so many great new series that our kids have loved! Always so impressed with the help we receive. Overall, just love this place!

Visited for the first time on a Saturday afternoon strolling through the area. Was very impressed with the selection and organization of books Boswell had in stock. I'm personally not that much for a physical book reader, but the store had such a nice vibe and charm ambiance to it. The staff were helpful and attentive. I was most curious to check out the cook book selections and was amazed by the variety of books Boswell offered. The store had deals going on where books were heavily marked off. If you're in the area, it's a cool spot to check out!

I love Boswell's! Extensive selection, wonderful staff that will help you find exactly what you need (and even a few extra books that you didn't know you needed!), and great value. Their events are a can't-miss as well--from reading to author signings and more. Such a fun bookstore!

It is always an exciting adventure to walk into a real bookstore and wander among the offerings! Boswell is especially great because they offer smart staff recommendations for many books. These help me to find the books that will inform or entertain me. And I find that there are pleasures in owning, handling, and gifting “real”books … Boswell supports those pleasures.

To be upfront, I'm not from Milwaukee, but I'm up here often. Boswell's is the best local book place I've been to which is why I keep heading back. The staff recommendations are nice, diverse, and cover all categories. Comfy chairs scattered throughout the store and a good selection of book adjacent items like notebooks, calendars, puzzles, and other items. Seems to me like they have sections throughout the store for whatever your reading preference is and regardless of age.
