I had the worst experience at a bank. Matt C. made sure that my father would not want to come back but that may be the bank’s policy. Without disclosing personal information, Matt took what is usually a simple withdrawal and turned it into a personal interrogation. Professional courtesy and an explanation before an inquiry disguised as fraud protection is expected. But to be asked by a teller if you want to take your business somewhere else is unacceptable. The answer, we will.

I opened up an account yesterday & have plenty of cash available. When trying to use my card to make a huge purchase, I wasn't able to do that and was told that my account was locked and under investigation which doesn't make any sense to me. I can't use my card or speak to an individual until Monday. That's crazy! Super irritated.

Matt has been a great banker to work with at the downtown Milwaukee location. They do a great job!

Tellers are always friendly and professional- no problem there. However, a word to the wise, use another financial institution for exchanging currency. Even as a customer with an account with them, they use a currency exchange service that provides the most AWFUL rates. I purchased euros for a trip to Europe and they did not give me the exchange rate found on multiple financial websites and google, instead they gave me their provider's rate which is trash, so for each 100 euros I paid $112 instead of $105 as it should have been.Worse is when I went to sell leftover euros back. For 70 euros I only received $67 back! How is that even possible when euro is worth $1.05 dollars with a fluctuation of maybe $.01? I should have gotten MORE dollars back than its equivalent in euros! While it's just a couple dollars here, over the long run they are weaseling money out of their own customers by robbing you a little on both ends. Incredibly disappointed with this bank.I asked multiple times during the first visit if they were charging a fee for the exchange because that rate didn't' make sense and they said no. I won't be using them for any other services because there really aren't any benefits to. Luckily I have accounts at other financial institutions.

Made an appointment to open an account at 10:30. Got there on time, was told there was no banker. No problem, I waited. 10:55 a banker shows up, talks to the staff, but nobody even acknowledges the fact that I'm there 10 minutes later. I just left. As I'm walking to the parking lot I get a text saying my 10:30 appointment was cancelled, what a joke of a bank. Great to see how they really treat customers before opening an account.

Came in to set up a checking account and apply for a credit card for my small business with Nikeya. She was personable and professional and has followed up with me on everything since, which I really appreciate. I originally had an account set up at BMO but this checking account works much better for me just starting out- no fees and no minimum ?? Locations work really well for me too living downtown and one on my way home from work

My experience at this branch was not pleasant. Office manager Nekiya was not very friendly and didn't acknowledge me when I entered. At one point she dropped some cash that I gave her to deposit. Instead of retracing her steps, she very blunted asked if she should change the amount on the receipt. After realizing she dropped the cash, she gave a half-hearted apology.James Camp was the banker I was scheduled with. He was also impersonal and seemed as though I was wasting his time. I went in to explore investment options and he didn't take the time to really go over those with me. I was in and out in 10 minutes. As I left, I waved to James who now was standing next to Nekiya and thanked them for their time. Not a word was said to me. Just rude customer service, especially considering that I had just deposited a large amount of money. Perhaps if I had been a white man or white woman, my experience would have been different.Chose another branch or another bank altogether.

I can't bank at this branch anymore and am in the process of switching banks because I don't drive and this is my neighborhood branch. There is a banker there named Nikia who is completely unreasonable. She refused to give me a new debit card at the branch since it was the third time in two months I needed one. Two of those three times were in no way my fault because I had to close my card and dispute charges I did not approve. One of the main reasons I've banked with Associated is because they issue new debit cards in the branch. I had no cash and no active debit card as my old one had to be closed for the most recent dispute, and I was sick as a dog when I dragged myself to this branch to get a new card. When she wouldn't issue the card I started to close my account right then and there, but I couldn't even deal with her anymore and walked out. I headed to another branch over a half mile away in the cold, coughing and sweating profusely from my fever while I got in touch with a supervisor from customer service to file a complaint. The branch I walked to was closed and I had to take an Uber to a third branch on Doctor MLK Drive. That is a nice branch and they're very helpful and ethical there. They told me that Associated Bank does not limit the amount of debit cards you can get in the branch, which confirmed my suspicion that this woman Nikia must be on some sort of power trip. If that MLK branch was within walking distance I might have considered staying with Associated, but with things as they are, I can't bank with them. I can't bank or live this way. Nobody should have to and I don't wish banking experiences like this on anyone. I made a withdrawal at MLK that just about emptied my account and I will officially close it once I get my money back from the disputed charge. Associated Bank is fine overall, but if you are considering banking with them please know that there are better options, and definitely do not bank with them if you will be needing to use this 250 branch. If my upper respiratory infection turns into pneumonia from all of this I would like to hold Nikia personally responsible for my medical bills.

Internet said branch is open until 6pm on Monday, we went there at 5:30pm on Monday and it was closed. Called the number and it said it was closed, but the automated line said it was open. Very disappointing with the various times listed in multiple places. What a waist of time.

My first bad encounter wasn't even with customer service, or long wait times, it's about their ATM, I needed to make a width drawl about 3 months ago, and Google searched that this was the closest Associated Bank ATM to where I was. I go there, and it's down for service, reasonable. Well I go there today and it has the same damn sign, and again I had to go out of my way to visit another ATM making me late for my client meeting. Why can't you guys fix it? It's been three months!
