Nice store with almost everything I need

Honestly? Really bad. There’s an old folks home practically next door and I find it particularly odd that in order to apply the paper coupons you have to your purchase, you need to go to the app to get it... but guess what? The app doesn’t work in the store. Ever. Nobody’s app works at the checkout counters. The outcome? Old people paying more than they should have to because they can’t figure out that the entire store is a scam. What more proof do you need than them changing their name from pick and save to metro market in half the places because they were doing so poorly? Frankly, I missC Copps.

Never enough actual manned lanes open and the online based inventory seems to have zero actual basis with what's in the store. Why have it if it isn't correct, or even in the ball park?

So I show up early on Superbowl Sunday at Metro Market. I try to use a raincheck for some soda and the nice lady watching the self-checkout points out that my raincheck is from Hy-Vee not Metro Market. Oops! It's OK because the soda is on sale anyway provided that I enter the phone number linked to the Pick 'n Save Advantage Card I got from Chairman Bob far before the turn of the millennium. :) Also, I get these nice Kroger coupons in the mail once and a while. This one coupon says free Energizer batteries 2 pack or 4 pack. It doesn't say which type of battery so of course I choose the most expensive batteries. These four AAA batteries would have been $16.49! The nice lady is amazed and showing due diligence, even holds the coupon up to the light to make sure it is legit. We're talking big bucks here. After no hassle I got them free. I also had a free mayo coupon, so my total savings was $24.82 on a $7.00 receipt. How can four AAA batteries cost $16.49 anyway? My new goal in life is to outlive the 20-year shelf life of these batteries. ? Love you Kroger.

They never have enough cashier's, even on big shopping days. Last Saturday, only 1 checker and an aisle long line for self checkout. Ditched and went elsewhere.

David said he could not type in my card to use. It is company policy. Then why does other Metro Market and Pick n Saves do it? As well as Walmart and Costco.

The app rarely works for the digital coupons. They only had one register open at 515 pm. It took me 14 minutes to get to put my food on the belt so my ice cream was melted before I left the store. The line doubled from when I got in it by the time I checked out.I try to not go to this store but the rate times I do, it's a strong reminder why I avoid it. At least that's consistent just like the staff that makes you feel dumb because their app isn't just friendly.

The produce section is greatly lacking. There is consistently moldy, mushy and gnat covered fruits and veggies. The rest of the store is typically well stocked and kept up

Great produce, nice selection of products and the staff is super personable.

The HR director Ibraham was extremely rude and created such an unwelcoming environment. I asked for a job and was immediately shut down for no reason. We talked on the phone about me getting a job here and when I went to him, he kept lying to my face about not talking to me at all. Extremely rude and unprofessional.

They lack in the produce department, but everything else is good. What Metro Market also needs is more outdoors and office supplies.

The produce department is mediocre compared to other local grocers. One can often times find rotten fruit and wilted greens.Rarely do I see an employee actively maintaining the department when I shop there, usually weekday early evenings.I also notice that the dairy section is in a constant state of low stock/restock.The store is generally well-maintained, and the staff is usually helpful.Rolling around this store in a wheelchair can be challenging, often times there are barriers and obstacles to work around. It’s a good enough store to go to in a pinch, but definitely not my first choice in the Madison in Metro area.

For a company whose commercials are literally only about how fresh fruit and vegetables are inspected to ensure the highest quality, I am shocked at how metro market has the worst produce in the entire Madison area. Almost always find produce that’s unbelievably old with mold.

Lots of fresh deli, produce and bakery items! See picture for a small sampling. They have super fresh produce. Even their marked down produce is very good. In the Deli, my favorites are the salmon and oven baked chicken pieces. They also have great jumbo shrimp offerings, that come in ready to heat or cook in the oven or microwave. The special aluminum pans are safe to use in the microwave (no sparks!) Great for last minute dinner options!
