My favorite mustard museum!

My biased review (I love mustard): it was amazing and a lot of fun. Sampling all of the mustards at the sample area was delicious and it showed me the endless possibilities of mustard. The museum area was pretty whimsical and informative at the same time. It definitely didn't have typical museum vibes. 10/10 experience. I just wish I could mail myself more mustards. Definitely want to come back here for national mustard day one year.
Non-biased: Definitely a worthwhile experience. I learned quite a bit about mustard and it gave me a better appreciation about it. While I can see how the mustard jokes and silliness of it can become slightly stale, it is well put together and doesn't take much time to get through. On the ground floor you can taste as many or as few samples of mustard as you like, the server doesn't pressure you or hurry you. They were super helpful in steering people into the direction of what mustards they might find more enjoyable and even gave suggestions on how best to use/pair the mustards. The amount of mustards was a bit overwhelming at first, but being able to sample a ton of them definitely helped relive the pressure of selecting a few to chose. 10/10 would recommend even if mustard is not your favorite condiment. It's a good, fun, delicious time.

This is a one-of-a-kind place worth the visit. There's everything from mustards with beer cognac bourbon truffle oil Japanese mustards German mustards from the Netherland from all over the United States mustards that are sweet, savory, spicy horseradish just about anything you can imagine they have it port wine mustard it just goes on and on. They have little pretzel sticks which is kind of nice and a museum downstairs. Upstairs the people working at the shop are passionate about mustard and very welcoming. I learned a lot and came home with some wonderful mustards it's a fun place. There's a library across the parking lot, an old train station and little restaurants in the neighborhood.

This museum was the attraction I was most looking forward to during my weeklong summer vacation through four states. It did not disappoint! There are many interesting exhibits, from informative to fun and even humorous.
I was most impressed with the tasting bar, where about 30 types of mustard were on display. The bar even sold soft pretzels with your choice of mustard. For me, the dill pickle mustard was the winner. ?
There are also hundreds of mustards, among other fun things, available for sale in the gift shop. I purchased several of the mustards I tasted at the bar, along with a few souvenirs.
All the staff were very nice and made the museum a welcoming environment for all.
Finally, let me say this: You haven’t truly lived until you have visited the National Mustard Museum in Middleton, Wisconsin! ???

We weren't sure what to expect – a hit or a miss? Well, consider it a HIT! If you're someone who doesn't take life too seriously and enjoys quirky adventures, this place is a definite must-visit. It was fun and funny, lighthearted enough that I could have easily brought my elderly mother. Plus, it's completely accessible for anyone with mobility limitations.
The gift shop was a blast too. After finding a fancy French mustard I just had to get, we stumbled upon their mustard tasting! We sampled all sorts of delicious and unexpected mustards. Believe it or not, the rootbeer one was surprisingly good! However, I'd skip the gingerbread unless you're a fan of black licorice flavors. The best part? I even got to try my fancy French mustard before buying it! The whole experience can be easily done in an hour, making it a perfect pitstop-- did I mention it's open 7 days a week and it's free? Win win.

Fun museum / gift shop. If mustard is your thing, this is the place. If you don't like mustard, come check this place out anyway and learn something new. Basement is dedicated to varieties of mustard from everywhere. Large display of mustard jars and some informational pieces. The first floor is where the magic is. Well organized selection of mustards: herbal, Dijon, sweet, fruity, etc. If they sell it, you can try it at the tasting bar. The staff are very engaging and know their mustard. They want you to find a product you enjoy and want to know why you like it. A modest selection of Wisconsin gifts and some pre-packaged gift baskets. Individual jars were reasonably priced. They carefully box up your purchases. Is a worthwhile stop to enjoy.

The best mustard experience there is. The museum combines the history of mustard with an extensive mustard tin collection, access to competition winning mustards and a tasting bar. My visit leaves me a bona-fide yellow condiment convert. This almost religious experience happens rarely in life. What isn't rare is the daily quality of a steak and cheese pie from Mairangi Bay bakery.
I've been going the mairangi bay bakery since I was a young lad (boy/chap). Growing up in the city of sails (Auckland) many things have changed but what hasn't changed is the quality of my favourite bakery. Whether it is the aged cheddar, fresh new zealand prime beef or flaky pastry, John and Mary have turned this place around since they bought it it 1961. The Vietnam War was raging and John at the time (who had served in the Korean War) met Mary over a fateful glass of Malbec. As John looked deep into Mary's eyes (blue) she leaned across the table and softly whispered, "this would go really well with a steak and cheese".

If you're looking for something unique and fun to do, I suggest checking this place out. The museum is free, and the gift shop has more mustard for sale than you could shake a pretzel stick at.

The workers here were so friendly! There are so many mustards! And you can ask to sample as many as you want. I didn't spend much time in the actual museum but hope to do that another time when I have more time to do so. Mustard is a little pricey but the atmosphere is so welcoming and you can taste them so you can know if it is worth the price or not. I bought three! If you are in Middleton I would recommend stopping.

A fun little museum that you can stop by while poking around Middleton. The museum itself is small but it is also free and just one of those fun little hidden things that makes small cities so great. Upstairs is the main shop where you can sample a great deal of mustards and even purchase some interesting mustards.

A real hidden gem! I never thought I'd learn so much about mustard (or find it interesting) but after an hour, I had to be dragged out by my brother. The museum was so informative and fascinating-- I especially liked the display of mustards by state and country.
There was a great variety of mustards for purchase too. I got the walnut mustard that Oprah said she loved, if it's good enough for her, it's good enough for me! I just wish I had bought more than one bottle :) Thank you for a great experience!

I’ve lived in Madison for several years and somehow have never been! My family was in town on a very rainy day, so I suggested we check it out. It was a neat, fun little museum and I enjoyed trying some samples. I wouldn’t say I’m the biggest mustard aficionado but they had such an interesting variety of flavors - ginger curry, dill pickle, and root beer?? And hundreds more. Would recommend if you find yourself with some time to kill and/or enjoy trying new condiments and learning some niche history.

Cutest tiny museum I’ve been to in a while. It’s a quick 20-30 minute walk through. They have a tasting mustard bar and will let you try all the mustard that they have on stock to your heart content. Every single employee was super nice and helpful. I would come back not only for the mustard but for how friendly everyone was. Wheelchair friendly as they have an elevator.
