I know Sarah very well. I am a college student who was looking for a new hair style. I showed her a picture, and she gave me exactly what I wanted! Sarah is very professional and listens what the clients ideas. I will definite be booking another appointment with her again.

I have been going to Sarah for over three years, and I love my hair every time I see her. She is attentive to what I want as a customer, but is also creative and willing to play with new styles when I ask her for something new. I would not trust anyone else with my hair!

I was surprised by goog review's posting, considering I wouldn't let anyone near my hair except for Sarah. She has been doing my hair for the past 11 years and just yesterday I got a compliment from a young teenager saying how much she liked my hair. Not only was I surprised by this posting but I myself was "literally" laughing out loud at goog review's complete inaccurate description of Sarah's capability of doing hair. Anybody who knows Sarah and her work knows that Sarah would not allow a client to leave her salon with their hair described as "50% of her head untouched while the middle section was chopped." Sarah is more than accommodating to her clients. If they was ever an issue she would get you in as soon as possible to make sure you are satisfied with your style. This is how I would describe my hairstylist Sarah as attentive, detailed, and personable.

It's true, no matter how hard you try, you can't please everyone. Unfortunately, there are people who take pride in anonymously complaining online about their services instead of reaching out and communicating with their stylist that they are unhappy and their hair needs some more attention. How is anyone supposed to know that their clients are unhappy if no one tells them? Leaving a review online without contacting Sarah is really disheartening and I'm glad that Sarah's clients know better than to be influenced by such a review.
When you have a self-employed stylist, it's important to remember that when you reschedule or cancel so close to the appointment time, it is very hard for them to fill that time with someone else. You may have a better time going to Cost Cutters where they expect these types of behavior. Sarah is a great stylist and doesn't deserve a bad review when she is the one who was professional and took charge of her business by eliminating someone who doesn't respect her time.

After getting home from my hair appointment last night (and receiving great service as always), I thought I would take the time and submit a review. Too often people don't take the time to say "Great Job" but instead will run to the computer to bash someone. Before writing this, I read the other reviews and was happy to see that some people really do take the time to say positive things. A recent reviewer however couldn't resist tarnishing the review platform with what seemed to me like a fabricated review. I say this because Sarah asks for feedback every step of the way during the appointment. When she is done, she shows us our "finished product" from every angle and again asks if everything is OK. She also reminds us that if we get home and discover any issues, she is more than happy to have us back to fix it. I truly feel that my happiness as her client is her top priority. I have been coming to Sarah for about 5 years now. Before finding her, I had been to many different hair stylists. After having my hair literally fried by one, I Google'd "best hair stylists in Madison, WI". Avant Garde Salon was the first listing to be displayed. I made an appointment, met my new hair stylist and haven't looked back since. In fact, Sarah, you are stuck with me because I'm not going anywhere! :)
