This could be a great ski hill and would be just as good as Cascade Mt but it seems like the hill is never %100 open due to lack of effort by the owner. Also the lift is slow and needs to be updated. This could be a 5 star hill if the lifts were fast and they opened up the new terrain they supposedly have plans for. It's a shame because this could be a really awesome place.

Great place, great atmosphere and great runs for an average or beginner skiiers. They do have plenty of black diamonds which any casual skiier should be able to enjoy

We went to snowboard, and it's just a really fun place to be. You can hang out with friends, and just have fun. It is a great place, and a place I would recommend going to.

Review as a Chicagoland skierGiven similar snow conditions, this wasn't that much better than Alpine, and I don't feel it worth worth driving the extra hour. I love having longer runs, but there just isn't enough variety here. The terrain parks had a lack of interesting shaping, and only 2 of the other runs really stand out. The lifts are painfully slow, meaning that even on days with no crowds, runs feel stretched out. I haven't been to Cascade in a while so I can't compare there, but I wouldn't go here unless the snow was noticeably better than Alpine, which it just hasn't been this year. I was also let down by the lack of mogulsWould recommend mainly for beginner/intermediate skiiers who live closer by

We returned to Devil's Head this year after two years away. Unfortunately we will not be back. The camaraderie among the guests is great and the waitstaff and food in the restaurant are great. However to pay $97 for a lift ticket is absurd. Half the lifts are down, there is only one green run that isn't a bunny hill (they call it "4 runs" but it's 1), the slopes aren't groomed during the day even with very icy conditions, and half the runs are closed. The bathrooms were filthy and half closed, and our friend who was visiting from out of town waited in line for rentals for 1.5 hours. This place could be SO much better with some more care. And if not, then please just lower your prices if you do not intend to ever have the mountain fully open. It is not comparable to other local resorts (priced only $5 more) who have 48 trails and 11 lifts fully open.

Charged us full price when half the mountain was closed, 92 bucks for half a mountain with slow lifts is unacceptable

Best resort feel of any Wisconsin ski hill. Ski out rooms, bar with a fire pit near the lifts, and longer runs than most other nearby hills.

Came for an evening of skiing. Quit after only 2 runs! Conditions aweful; icy ruts. They have upgraded their snow making equipment, but saw no evidence of its use. My impression, they’re calling it a season.

Untapped PotentialIf you work in private equity, this place will make you drool - this place has so much potential, but lacks the investment to move this resort from barely sub-par, to a true Midwest gem.Lodging is unacceptable - I ended up staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Sauk City in lieu of staying onsite. From my friend’s direct experience, they told me I made the right decision. The runs that were open were decently groomed. All of the terrain throughout is a great confidence builder if you’re new to skiing. Even the black runs are genuinely very easy but sporty enough to get your blood flowing.Lifts are extremely slow.Night skiing runs are very poorly lit when compared to other resorts in the Midwest.Although I brought my own skis, my friend’s rental skis were unacceptable - there was heavy damage throughout, no wax. My friend had to end the day early because the rentals were so bad.Ultimately, I don’t think I’ll be back until there is new and substantial investment made throughout the entirety of the “resort.”Upgrade lifts, give the entire place a facelift, all lodging needs a substantial renovation, increase lighting on runs, upgrade rentals.
