I won a gift certificate a few months ago for one night stay. It expired at the end of the year and I didn’t notice it. It’s my fault for not seeing how quickly it expired but it would have been cool of them to honor it considering a multiple night visit would still be lucrative for them. No biggie, won’t be going there.

I had my wedding party and family stay here and they went above and beyond my expectations. Kept the bar open for us and let us utilize the entire hotel. Staff were very friendly and straightforward. All around great people and I highly recommend this place for anyone who needs it for events or just a weekend to stay.

This could be a super cool hotel if it was executed properly. Rooms have been cheaply furnished and are quite run down. They were also incredibly dirty. Greasy fingerprints all over the TV, stained comforter, sheets, and carpet, dirty shower, etc. I could deal with the cheap, old furniture, but the dirtiness of the rooms was not okay.

Unique setup. Clean. Quiet. Tea/H2O station. Historic building. Great location for Horican Marsh trip.

BEWARE: PICTURES ON WEBSITE DO NOT ACCURATELY SHOW ROOMS.We booked for one night. We arrived at 1:30pm and no one was at the front desk. We were told they don't arrive till 2pm. We waited and check in around 2:30pm. We booked a King Classic corner room. We were on the 3rd floor. The room was not what was pictured on the website! The furniture was old and beat up. The small frig was placed on the luggage rack. There were dead flies and bugs on all window sills and the bathroom tub would require you to pole vault into it due to the height of it to take a shower. We did not stay and we did not get a refund.

I am not one to write reviews or ask for refunds, but this was the most taco bell experience of a "Luxury Queen" room I have ever came across.None of the furniture, besides the bed, in the photos on Priceline OR their personal website are correct. In the first 5 minutes of us showing up, we found spiders and bugs by our headboard of the bed, and a couple in the shower. The expectation of what they presented, was not at all what was delivered at the end of the day for the price we paid. go to a normal hotel for the same price, this wont be at all what you thought and we got the Deluxe (classic) Queen Suite.

What a great little gem we found in Mayville! I’m a huge fan of supporting small local hotels instead of the big chains. We definitely weren’t disappointed! The check in was seamless and the front desk attendant was very sweet and helpful. The rooms have been updated but still have charm. Love that!!! I’d recommend it to anyone traveling to the Horicon Marsh area. I’m hopeful the restaurant will reopen. It had wonderful reviews previously. Right now the bar does open for evening cocktails from 5-10pm. Traveling the state looking for hidden gems and Supper Clubs one weekend at a time, we definitely enjoyed this one very much!

This place was the worst. It wasn't open when we got there. The doors were locked and there was no one at the front desk. I called the after hours phone number and got no answer. We never stayed and they never refunded our money. Worst experience ever at a hotel.

It is nice although you can hear all the noises from outside and it is too bright at dawn in the rooms, I still like it but the owner is a good person and has good customer service. The bar is nice, there is a machine to play music and a pool game, there is a good atmosphere

We booked here for a Friday night, there were 2 rooms left. I said we'd arrive between 9 and 9:30. We arrived at 9:20. There was no one at the desk and no instructions. I went next door to the bar and asked if anyone was working at the hotel and the bartender went to the back and found an envelope with my name on it. We unloaded and went to our room which when I opened the door I was hit by a blast of cigarette smoke. Both my kids refused to go into the room and I looked on the paper work for contact information for the hotel staff. The manager Fancis said it was impossible that the room was smokey because it had been deep cleaned 3 days ago. I'll note that the paperwork said there was a $500 charge for deep cleaning if the room was smoked in. I informed him that the room had most certainly been smoked in and asked if he could move us to the other open room. He said we couldn't be moved. My wife and I opened all the windows in the room and left the door open for about an hour with a fan running and the room was tolerable. Fortunately it was cool enough to sleep with the windows open or we would have gone elsewhere.Mattresses were not comfortablePillows were flatLinens were courseDecor was minimalist and as pictured on the websiteTub was hugeBath fan made horrible screeching sound and couldn't be usedThere was no one at the desk at check out time (10 am) 2 days hence and I've received no contact from the facility. We were in from 24.I wouldn't return.

Large room and nice bathroom and architecture is beautiful. Comfortable bed. Overall, the hotel was noisy and there’s little if any soundproofing. Parts of the Inn are very nice; furniture it a bit cheap and uncomfortable. Nice location. Clean.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights, and our experience was completely adequate. The room we stayed in was a bit run down, but it was clean and had everything we needed. I really enjoyed that the TV in the room was a Roku TV so we could login into our own streaming services (just don't forget to logout too!) And the ac unit kept the room nice and cool over the hot weekend. I greatly enjoyed the location, we were on our trip for a concert in Milwaukee and Mayville is about an hour out of the city. We don't like staying in big cities personally it's just too busy and traffic gets bad at times. Mayville is a lovely old town in an absolutely beautiful area in Wisconsin and no more than an hour from everywhere we wanted to go. I would stay again.

Hotel was very beautiful architecturally remodeled hotel. Loved walking the top floor to enjoy local artist's beautiful products available for purchase. Grateful to the current owners bringing this property alive to today's state from it's origin 1896. The host that checked us in was friendly and very helpful with questions. That being said there are some comfort short comings. Stayed in room #20 facing front of hotel (Mayville's main street). 1. Heard lots of truck traffic over the night. 2. Portable floor A/C unit - had difficult time programming the fan to constantly run. Instructions would have been very helpful. "White noise" would have helped overcome the street traffic. 3. Windows faced the east so at the 5:22am sunrise, the sun showed through the translucent shades right into the room. Should have installed opaque shades.

This place has so much potential, so I will add some suggestions for the owner who seems to have put in a lot of focus on great online presence and email marketing but the actual experience doesn't live up to it.We stayed at the Classic Suite and here are the suggestions:1. Replace the couch which is stained and we felt icky sitting on it. Also it is extremely low.2. Because the couch is low, lower the TV so it closer to eye level3. Let the guest adjust the thermostat and don't lock it up. Relying on the space heaters wasn't a great experience.4. Put some stand or shelf near the bathroom sink to put some items. Otherwise there is little room to put your toiletries.5. Add curtains to the bedroom because there is too much light coming in early morning6. Add double pane windows because the traffic noise from the trucks going by at 4 am wakes guests up7. Have someone at the front desk or pick up the phone when calling the main number8. Have the bar open when advertised. It will not open all weekend when we were there even though the check-in lady said it would be.At this time, I suggest you stay away from this place.
