We used Genes Furniture and Moving this week. The three workers were polite, hard workers. They got two truckloads moved 10 miles in 6 hours. Thank you for the great experience.

We were moving our furniture from our home to storage for a month and then to our new house. We wanted to stay local so we hired Gene's furniture. On moving day out of the house 3 workers and a truck showed up It took 5 plus hours . (including multiple smoke breaks) to move across town to a storage unit. They damaged a few pieces of furniture, tore one box spring, and smashed 1 of 6 decorative light fixture outside, I had to replace all 6 because that style is no longer made. They also damaged some of the beautiful woodwork in the house. Then the workers denied all of it, even though my wife watched them do it. the manager later agreed to take the cost off the bill for the second move. On the day of the move from the storage unit to our new house I got a call from one of the movers 2 hours prior to the agreed upon start time telling me that they did not want to do the job. I called the manager of Gene's and was told that the workers did not want to come, and he was not going to make them. We hired Peak Movers from Wausau. Two men and a truck showed up it took 6 hours including the drive from Wausau to move our furniture 9 miles from storage to our new house. We had no damage. The bill was almost $200 less for the second move. I will never use Gene's Furniture to move again.

Just bought a piece of furniture from here- on the website it states that they offer military discount & free delivery within city limits- so I ask about the military discount and the guy said I can give you free delivery! FREE DELIVERY is a must as it’s advertised FREE so that’s not included w military discounts- we did NOT get a military discount so that’s false advertisement! Overall they are friendly- just don’t advertise something if you can’t hold up to it! :)

I worked there 4 nearly 2 years. Working there is basically modern day slavery, there's no benefits, no holiday pay, won't pay u for being sick or injured, your pay is less than a high school job, and the boss/manager is a pain 2 work for, hes money hungry, blames everything that happens on someone else unless your someone he likes, never bothers to get the trucks fixed and if he does he takes it the cheapest place possible, he acts like the company makes no money when they make between 10-30k a month. If your furniture gets broken by accident he has us only take a $100 off your bill, and u don't like that he will start yelling and swearing at u.

Moving staff were friendly and considerate of the large furniture I needed to relocate. They were efficient and accommodating to the specifications given. Great experience and reasonably priced.

Had Gene's Furniture and Moving move my grandmother's old pump organ from my aunt's house in Marshfield to my house in Granton. They were on time, handled it carefully, etc. Overall, an outstanding job!

Basement flooded and they sent out guys the very next morning that I called. Despite being very busy, they made it a priority! So the customer who was angry for them being late to your job, blame me, we desperately needed them.

Recently had Gene's Furniture move my belongings into a storage area. Upon opening my unit the furniture was just thrown in and metal furniture was put on top of my antique wood dresser. They also put many scratches in my brand new solid oak Amish made dining table. But most of all they put my lawn mower in tipped on edge and all the engine oil leaked out and saturated my family heirloom hutch and buffet. I called and complained and they tried to make it mine or someone else's fault. They were the only ones who put my belongings in the storage unit..one star is too much for them
