La Oaxaquena is widely considered the best place for authentic Mexican food in Wisconsin. The food is excellent, authentic, absolutely amazing, and always tasty. Favorites include the best Barbacoa and Carnita tortas, the best lengua tacos, flavorful carne de puerco de salsa verde, and taco de guisado. Portions are famously huge, with monster burritos the size of footballs, a burrito as big as your head, and tacos that are huge. The chips and guac are fresh and awesome. The owners are absolutely wonderful, personable, very nice, and helpful. The staff is even better—friendly, attentive, and providing amazing customer service. The spot is family friendly and also offers awesome grocery options. With great prices and food that can’t be beat, it is a must-stop and a new go-to for regulars.

This is the best place for authentic Mexican food in Wisconsin, in my opinion. Amazing customer service, great prices, a burrito as big as your head, family friendly. You can't go wrong here.
