This business has helped me beyond words. The staff and the owner of this establishment always go above and beyond for their animals and for their community. First hand seeing as a volunteer the animals are very well taken care of and loved immensely and waiting for their forever homes. I can’t thank them all enough for what they do. God bless them!

Will not ever go back here. Unfortunate, as we have already rescued 3 animals from this facility. 2 cats and a dog. The people were very helpful back then. Now I found the staff not helpful at all, and very rude. Had no interest in anything other than to tell us to leave and fill out an application. Need to set an appointment before you even see the dog? I understand why the animals stay here so long now. If this 1 person that "assisted us" is any true reflection of the current staff, I would be highly concerned for all of the animals here. Need to remove the sign in driveway also, adopt today! Maybe get a staff in there that actually wants to make that happen.

Well run shelter. We adopted two kittens and the process was thorough but not difficult. I think they do a good job of making sure the pets in their care will get good homes. I didn't visit the dogs side only the cats.

We have had nothing but a GREAT experience here. We have adopted from here before; it went efficiently and all of our questions were answered. They also helped us with bringing in strays and making sure they were well cared for. The staff is friendly and quick to help. Thank you!

My wife and I are looking to adopt a dog from here, so far, not impressed. When looking at dog's online there is a very minimal description of the animal. And every dog is simply a mixed breed. No description of the mix. Also no description of if its good with other animals or people. After seeing a few dogs of interest my wife and I went to see the dogs. That's when we discovered the public can no longer just pop in and visit. I guess I can understand why they don't want a bunch of random people walking through the kennels, because it does rile up the whole kennel. So we asked for more information, they just showed us where the dog binder was, still very minimal information on the animal's. They didn't seem to even want to talk to us until we filled out an application and we were approved. So we filled out an application and 5 days later we sit and wait to even get the simplest damn information on a couple of dogs.

Donated some dog food for my past dog. They're working on getting a new facility at this point. But the people there are very nice and take care of the animals as best as possible.

I have had the worst luck trying to adopt. Went to look at a dog, and they want you to do an application before looking at the dog. To their credit, they did ask what dog, and they told us it was already being adopted. We went to 5 Humane societies and three adoption organizations. The entire process was horrible. We wanted to do the right thing and adopt an older dog that needed a home. BUT the entire process treats you like a criminal. Back ground checks, home inspection, vet approval, etc. Go Lord, I have a doctorate, and my wife and I have had over 20 dogs and six kids.
We went to a breeder. Walked in, had a cup of coffee, sat and talked to the breaders, met the dogs, met the dog's parents, left with a dog, and we have a puppy who now has a charmed life.

We went to meet a dog we want to adopt. The people working and volunteering their time are amazing. They are kind and loving to the animals. They were patient and took the time to answer all our questions. If you're looking to adopt or foster an animal, you should go to lakeshore humane society.

They do a great job with the resources available to them. If more people could donate just a little bit, even once a month, it would be a great help. So many animals that use a TON of resources. Wish they were open another day or so to the public but I understand that has to do with staffing.

We had an awesome experience with this humane society. They took the time to get to know our family and we had several meetings with our new dog beforehand to make sure he was a compatible fit for our family. They were honest and straight forward with us and the adoption fees are super reasonable! We will definitely come back to this place in the future for future forever family members.
