This is our 3rd year with Downtown Dance and we really like it. My daughter is very young, so not to the "drama" age yet, but I just get an overall sense that the older girls aren't mean "dance divas". I do not want my daughter getting sucked into the drama and meanness that can sometimes come with dance and I feel this studio sets a very solid tone against that behavior.On another note, the routines have been fantastic each year! Speaking from my personal experience, Mrs. Tabitha who teaches the little movers class, is fabulous. Each year she actually gets these 2-4 year olds to do a routine and they do an amazing job. Sometimes when dealing with kids that young it can just be mass chaoswith absolutely no structure, but she does so well with them. My daughter loves going to her class each week and we look forward to seeing her routine each year.

My daughter has danced at this studio for 5 years. She never danced before and the teachers worked with her to build her confidence and strengths as a dancer. Besides working hard, the staff and teachers allow the kids to have fun and express themselves. This is a warm and wonderful place to have your child begin dance and continue their dance training. When you enter the studio you are greeted and welcomed every time. We highly recommend this studio!

The owner is clearly a dance mom. Her daughter gets all the attention and there are many more studios to choose from. The owner has never danced, so how can she be safe to hire people? Many of their teachers have t danced in years if ever. When I was there I saw nothing but drama between workers and celebrations after they’ve given discounts to switch from other studios (free tuition or show tixkets) studio was started just to take down two reputable ones.

They create a loving and fun environment for you child to be themselves and have fun. They are patient with the child and have great teachers that will sit and help if the dancers need help. It's the best dance studio I have ever put a foot into.

this is the 3 yr my gran kids will be in downtown dance and they love it the teachers are nice friendly, this yr they did summer dance as well

I absolutely would not send your child/children to this dance company. One owner is extremely rude and unprofessional. After a misunderstanding regarding the starting time of practice. (Which the dancers were only 20 minutes late to a 3.15 hour practice). Immediately upon entering the dance studio she yelled at one of the middle school dancer. I began apologizing to her regarding the mix up in the time. She began accusing me that I knew the time due to another mother. It has to be said I do not know the other mother and this was the first interaction I had with this owner. She began making faces, rolling her eyes, shaking, clenching her fists and pulling her hair. I attempted to communicate with her to which she began scolding me like a child while using over exaggerated facial expressions. After feeling threatened by her actions, as well as, freightend for my niece's safety I took her home. It is a very unfortunate circumstance as my niece loves to dance. However, no way would I allow my niece to be mistreated, belittled and threatened. It's too bad that instead of being a role model to these young children she is a bully and rules by threats. For a paid service it sure seems she needs to learn customer service basics.
