Had a problem with vehicle leaking a combination of oil and transmission fluid from the engine area of a front wheel drive minivan. Local shop took a look at it and referred me to Al's. Craig explained what was wrong and kept me informed how long the repair would take and what it would cost. Drove it to Florida and back without a drip. Thanks for great service.

A+ service Nobody wants to have vehicle problems. But if that happens, it's nice to know that people and places like Al's transmission service is there. I had transmission issues with a newer chevy pickup. After talking with Craig, he diagnosed the problem, set up an appointment and fixed the issue. Fast and friendly. Communication was excellent. I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, but we travel to Green Bay every so often to shop and.eat. Just loaded the car with groceries and getting on the highway, no power. Bye bye tranny! Got a hotel for.the evening, luckily still cold out so groceries were good. Picked up Yelp, started looking for a shop. I knew NO ONE in the area, so flying blind. Found Al's on here and the reviews were great. I called, I could tell right away they knew transmissions, no bs answers. I'm with USAA so tow to Manitowoc was covered. Had the wife.come.pick me up in the other car and transfer food and myself back home. They told me it would be a few days, the shop is BUSY, always a good.sign. 3 days later, the confirmation the tranny was toast,.and the replacement cost, WOW!! That was a kidney punch, albeit a fair price these days. Being my second car, I was flexible and so they worked on it at their schedule, and worked with me on a great price, cash talks as well! Got it back 3 or 4 weeks later. Trans like butter, gas mileage even improved. I did have a problem on my "Y" pipe, gasket failed where they had to take apart to drop tranny. Drove down, they spent 3 hours putting in new gasket and welding pipe. The charge? He asked if I minded paying for the parts needed. About 35 bucks. How fair is that? Stand up place, good people, honest and trustworthy. You pay for.the service, but it's fair and equitable. And the work is FIRST RATE. Have been driving it for 6 months, not a pickup. Perfect. Highest recommendation. Many thanks guys!

I was very happy with Al's Transmission Service. While in town from out of state, my transmission needed repair. Craig and the team were extremely helpful and got me back on the road again promptly. After unexpected further issues, Al's stood by their repair and took care of me and my vehicle from afar, while I was back in my home state, 1,200 miles from Al's. I had a 2004 Chevy 2500HD with some rear end noise. I originally thought it was a different issue. They were able to diagnose and fix the rear end and rebuild it. Luckily when they opened up the rear end there weren't any other issues (ie. Bad axles or gears) just seals and bearings. I would definitely recommend. Great service at a reasonable price, nothing is cheap these days and I think you get what you pay for. Everyone that I talked to there was courteous and easy to talk to. Craig kept me in the loop from initial diagnosis and quote to time to pickup. I will continue to take my vehicles there if I need to get a service done I am unable to do myself.

Awesome place to get your repairs. I'm new to the area, and I was looking for a mechanic where I wouldnt worry about the work being done properly, or most ppl dont realize a swap part factor.ive been places where I've ended up with different brand plugs at one time. Even had oil change done where the oil wasnt even changed. This place has my seal of trust an approval.

While driving from the Chicago area to about 80 miles north of Green Bay to attend my Uncle's funeral, our alternator went out and we were able to make it to a gas station a few miles south of Manitowoc. They put us in touch with Hi-way 42 Garage who were honest and said they were very busy and wouldn't be able to fix it for a few days. They told me to contact Craig at Al's Transmission and offered their tow service to get us there. Craig said they could help out and even helped us arrange a rental car from Lulloffs Rentals to be dropped off at his shop. We were on our way and made our destination on time. The repair was done that afternoon for a fair price and we were able to pick it up on our way home the following day. The crew at Al's and all the others who helped out were amazing and made my 86 mother a happy lady. Thank you!!
