While I raved about UW Hospital's recent care of me through my recent surgery and E. R. care, I do not have the same critique for the orthopedic department at the East Madison Hospital. I was supposed to have a steroid injection in my left knee. Due to my anxiety about this particular injection, I arranged to have it done either during my thyroidectomy or while in recovery, when I'd be nice and out of it. I received a confirmation call to let me know that everything was set up, someone from orthopedics would be there to administer the injection. After my thyroidectomy, I learned that orthopedics dropped the ball, and I was not given the injection. So, I contacted orthopedics, set up ANOTHER appointment. Due to my anxiety, they scheduled a guided ultrasound injection for today, 11/14/2023, and prescribed lorazepam to be taken one hour prior to my 3pm appointment. I decided to check on My Chart to make sure of the appointment time and to complete the pre-check in online. In checking my upcoming appointments, I couldn't find today's appointment. So, I called radiology, was then transferred to invasive procedures who was going to transfer me to orthopedics, but the call was dropped. I called back, finally got back to orthopedics and was told that the appointment was cancelled because it was scheduled as an office visit instead of in radiology. The nurse (I won't mention her name, but I made it clear I did not want her further involved in my care) never rescheduled for radiology nor did she call to let me know the appointment was cancelled. I was in the process of being transferred back to radiology, and . . . the call was, again, dropped. I'm still recuperating from surgery and am beyond annoyed with the way my orthopedic care has been handled by East Madison Hospital. I have not called back, and no one has called me. At this point I just want to heal from surgery. Once that's done, I will have my injection done at UW Hospital on Highland Ave. I think they will be able to schedule and administer the injection in one go. Very disappointed in East Madison Hospital orthopedics.

Before my surgery, I was told there was valet parking. When I arrived, I learned the hard way that there was NOT! So, being disabled, I was very late for my surgical appointment and they almost cancelled it! They said I could leave my car in the circle near the front entrance and I did, but I was anxious about it being there and concerned it might be ticketed or towed. Fortunately,it wasn't. I had to come back there for a follow up. I checked in on line and via a phone call was told to come in and sit between waiting areas E and F prior to the appointment. So, I did. After waiting for about 20 minutes, I got concerned that maybe they didn't know I was there. I had passed a single sign near the main entrance saying check in was to the right. I walked a ways in but didn't see a check in, but I did see E and F waiting areas, so I sat there as I had been told. After about 20 minutes went by, I decided to look for a check in deck. After passing a snack shop and seeing no more signs, I asked at the snack shop about check in. They directed me further down the hallway. I eventually found the check in, but it was so late there was concern that they might have to reschedule! All I could think was... So, I got up at 6:30 this morning to get to an 8:45 appointment nearly 30 miles from my house, only to think of gees am I going to have to go home and start all over again with another scheduling date? Fortunately that didn't happen. I was seeing with not too long of a wait. My final thoughts are, administration of this Hospital needs to get its act together. Patients need much better information! I should say, all the staff I talked with were pretty good, mostly caring and concerned and helpful. But the hospital itself just needs work.

I have been here many times for various Dr appointments and procedures. My check in have always been fast and painless. There is a self checkin area too which can be helpful if the check in desks are busy. There is a coffee shop and cafeteria in this building also for those who may be waiting for someone. Currently because of COVIT 19 you are not allowed to bring anyone with you to a Dr. office visit.

I don't even want to give one star. Honestly, I went through 10 months of care with this clinic preparing for bariatric surgery to better my health and was disqualified from the surgery. I went to their cooking classes, video visits, phone calls, in clinic and had surgery planned for this past June and it was cancelled. Meanwhile, I was billed over $2500 in bills. Feels like a scam to me. Who leads someone on this long only to be kicked out of the program at the last minute. And nobody can give you a straight answer. 10 months of being in this clinics care and then dumped like a piece of garbage. If you are thinking about going with this clinic for Bariatric surgery - don't. They will make sure you will compile a huge bill and then kick you out of the program. They will also tell you it's because you missed appointments but their clinic is closed. It's all a joke, so please. Don't waste your time. I chose my insurance plan in planning on having this surgery. I also have missed work, missed life just to attend all of the hoops they require you to jump through. And then, poof, they decide they are too busy to help you any longer. I was denied because covid happened and their office is too busy to care. The communication between patients and nurses, doctors is pretty much non existent. I have sent multiple messages to the team. The communication was not good, even before covid. Nurses and the leader of this program will tell you they called, left a message but they don't. No my chart communication whatsoever, even though I have sent multiple messages.

I've had upper back and shoulder pain for years now and was hesitant to do physical therapy because in the past they just basically have you do a basic monotonous exercise then hand you a sheet with a diagram and send you on your way. This was not the case at TAC and specifically Dan Rizzo who is a step above any other PT I've ever seen. He's encouraging and explained exactly what was going on and my back and shoulders feel tremendously better. I can't thank you enough Dan!

It was my mother's first appointment here and when we went to check in there were two ladies and we went to one of them and right away she yelled out that she's on her lunch and shooed is away. It was very rude of her. If she was on her lunch why would she eat at the check in instead of their break room. The other lady apologized for her coworker and she helped us then. It made us mad because a nurse/doctor shouldn't act rude to any patients. Definitely won't go to her next time we check in.

My experience here has been great. Quick easy parking either valet or self park, quick check in, smooth appointments, very friendly and knowledgeable, nice and clean everything went well during my 3 visits.
