BEST SHOP ON STATE STREET! I love, love, love this aromatic Ace! I've been a customer since 1984, and I will remain an exclusive shopper until my last breath.I have worn their essential oils since my teen years. I've never gone without a few drams of Amber No. 1, my personal daily choice. It smells so divine like no other. I get compliments every time I wear it.I'm forever grateful for this tried and true staple on State Street.If you are on the fence about visiting the Soap Opera, DON'T strattle that fence. I recommend this spot for custom scents! The staff was professional and helpful. Even though the replica they made of my perfume same wasnt a complete match, it sure is becoming my favorite scent!Since they’re the only one providing custom scent downtown they can get a bit busy. I recommend going in person to “rush” the order a bit if you’ve been waiting too long (think i waited for two-three weeks?)

My mom bought me a hairbrush here 30 years ago and I still have it. I just recently bought another brush as a replacement since it might be time to upgrade. Even though I’ve moved away, I first thought about ordering it from the soap opera based on that experience years ago, and I’m sure I’ll be happy with the product.

1. Positive they had my favorite soap.2. They are out of my favorite soap and did not know how to get anymore.3. My package got Lost in transit delivered to incorrect house.4. left a message to have them call me back No return call.5. No appology for lost package.

I have loved this place since I was a kid. I decided to have a scent party for my older daughter's birthday. It was fantastic! Bailey was AMAZING with helping everyone create a scent! Once we got home, my youngest daughter realized she left the scent she created at the store. I emailed them to see if they found it. They hadn't, but they offered to mail us a replacement. What wonderful service. A place with quality products that truly cares about the customer's experience and satisfaction! Thank you!!Kim T

I really liked this place. The staff was friendly and helpful. I like their selection of bathtub toys. Also, this is a place to go to find specialty items. They have a good selection of healthy items.

A freaking community staple! Nothing is more Madison State St core than the Soap Opera! Sometimes I am in awe how they are still open just selling soap but I guess they found their niche and they nail it. It's fun and calming going in there and perusing and sniffing all the fun soaps they have. And they always do little outreach events like making your own perfume or make music madison (see the harp). Such a cute store.

I always stop here when I am in Madison!They have the most amazing soaps, scrubs, and bath bombs! They can personalize scents for a lot of their inventory as well!I got gift boxes for my mom to give to her on Mother’s Day, and it was a reasonable price as well.

A must stop shop when visiting State Street in Madison WI. Have been using their products for years…it’s nice they are now online. So many oils to choose from. My fav is Frangipani and Patchouli. Have fun!
