When will SSM doctors be able to admit to Covid vaccine injuries and adverse effects so they can start treating patients that desperately need help? I was told by a SSM employee that they would get fired for doing so. Do no harm?

The pharmacy staff is very knowledgeable, remembers you, and is very efficient. Their online service is also good.

I've never written a review even remotely close to this. However, I would absolutely beg potential patients to avoid getting treatment from SSM in Madison, especially geriatric patients. As a family member of a patient, I was treated with outright hostility the first time meeting the Care Provider. It was like pulling teeth to get a response to a question. First there would be deflection, then when the question was repeated there would be somewhat of a response but only the bare minimum. Over a period of 7 weeks the Provider never gave the family a single update on the patients diagnosis or treatment plan. At a later point in time, a review of the patients medical records showed that some conversations with family members were wholly fabricated, statements from family members were twisted solely to give a negative impression of that person, notes were written indicating their observations of an incident when that provider wasn't even in the facility. I could go on, but I'll end with this: The provider appeared icy cold, totally devoid of a conscience, showed no commitment to honesty or transparency, and is in a field of work that is in no way a match for their skillset.

Con artist. Thieves. And worthless. All they do suck ya money. Send you to urgent care repeatedly for simple sickness so you have to pay more. Last two years they have screwed me over and over like that. Let alone Mary Mora lying to me about the discount billing. Instead of helping me she said font worry about the bills yet I will send a letter telling the final bill. Never got that let instead got collections call for $12000 ... then her letter came a month later. Are you kidding. I need up taking out 20,000 in loans. For their mess up two surgeries same procedure only first time they took the drain tub out my breast to soon. Land me back a week later emergency surgery. I dont recommend them to anyone. I have since dropped them changed my everthing. Fuck you dean medical . Your a fucking joke and conartis, thieves, liars...

Some doctors are great; others are terrible. Fatal results would have ensued from the dreadful care from one doctor ; but lucky for me, I had the financial and professional resources to go elsewhere. As one doctor asked me several years ago after seeing my insurance, "You can go anywhere with this insurance; why are you coming here?" Good question--I stayed far longer than I should have b/c I liked my primary. Then she left; then my cardiologist left; and now billing is trying to scam me out of hundreds of dollars---never, ever have anything to do with SSM Health--it's actually SSM Profit Center.

The pharmacy staff here is incredibly incompetent. I always have issues here. Either they don't fill something, don't send out my refill to the location near where I live after I've requested it, the people I've dealt with in person have no idea what they are doing and ask redundant questions. It's incredibly frustrating. Getting my prescriptions filled is always a painful experience through SSM.

Worst pharmacy ever, you can given them a week to fill your meds and when you arrive to pick them up they still won’t be ready, they will tell you 15 minutes and they will be ready, you give them two hours come back and they panic because they don’t even have your meds in stock for the second month in a row...I’m not sure where the lack of competence is back there considering they have 7 employees back there wandering around.

I already wrote a review for this organization so I was surprised to see my review wasn't posted. I came to update my previous. My previous was two stars. Summed up, I stated I thought the care provided was superb and everything else was complete crap. I came here today to reduce the number of stars to 1. I now live out of state and this office has messed up my hiring process for a number of employers who simply required a written notice surrounding my last PCP visit. Again, great care, but completely incompetent service. It's been almost two months since I've moved down here and I am STILL WAITING on them to mail or email me a piece of letterhead saying I'm good to go. Instead, they've required another PCP visit at a time I do not have insurance (until I get that new job), and have played phone tag with me over the most minuscule information. This should have been completed within a week after requesting thus information - that is completely justifiable, even though still a bit drawn out. This office is run by people who have zero brain cells. And they do not care about other people. They treat you like a number instead of a person. When I lived in Madison, I would have recommended this clinic. Now, I tell people to avoid at all costs.

If I could give negative stars I would, and it would be wrong not to warn people about a few of Dean/SSM experiences and observations. First, my family member purchased what they thought was Dean "supplemental" insurance. Upon further research by the family, we (including my family member) were surprised that they had a Medicare Advantage plan, not a supplemental plan. We aren't sure where the disconnect or transparency was in regards to making sure they were fully aware that they were not purchasing supplemental insurance. If you purchase Dean insurance, you must get your care through SSM to be covered. Over the years, I've become disturbed by the quality of care and mistakes the staff has made. Here are a few examples: * My family member had surgery. We made plans for short-term post-care as they live alone. A few hours after the surgery, the staff insisted that he would be discharged and sent home the next morning. They would not be allowed to go to short-term care. We were shocked and explained that we thought that he was supposed to stay for a few nights and then go to a short-term facility. They insisted (in a condescending tone) that this was the care plan. Upon pushing the social worker further, we learned that they confused my family member with another patient on the same floor who had the same first name. * My family member was confused and went to physical therapy with slurred speech. The SSM physical therapist said that the slurred speech (we were not aware of this at the time) was due to a pinched nerve in the neck. The PT did not urge my family member to go to the hospital immediately. We were shocked that he was not urged to go to the ER to be checked out as this was a symptom of a stroke. A few days later, the family discovered the slurred speech/confusion over several phone calls. We took them to St. Mary's where they had an MRI. After waiting for the results of the MRI all day, we asked the nurse when the doctor would talk to us (this was the end of the business day). I suspect that they forgot about us, realized it was the end of the business day, and wanted to discharge him because the hospitalist showed up about 10 minutes later to say that they had a stroke. She did not know the answers to our questions (i.e. what part of the brain/functions are affected). She kept saying that the neurologist could answer them, but he had left the building. She also had a very condescending tone. We were discharged an hour later without having the opportunity to ask a neurologist questions. * My parent fell and wound up at St. Mary's again. Once again, St. Mary's simply gave him a CAT scan and discharged him when his chart said that he recently had a stroke. When I saw him, there was a significant decline in his health and ability to function. I couldn't believe that St. Mary's discharged him so quickly without looking into whether he had another stroke. We were able to find an actual supplemental plan and leave SSM. My family member recently had to visit UW urgent care. By contrast, the UW urgent care doctor immediately concluded that my family member is not in good health and took it seriously. Additionally, they were able to tell us more about my parent's condition than anyone at SSM. He said that there was a good chance that he had a second stroke or TIAs and to see a neurologist as soon as possible. Overall, what I find most disturbing about Dean/SSM is that the staff (at all levels) has a very blase attitude towards their patients. There is no sense of urgency. I'm under the impression that their priority is to make profits over providing care that leads to positive health outcomes.

Will pressure and con you into receiving additional services that you did not request, nor schedule, and then send you thousands of dollars in overpriced medical bills. Avoid at all costs. A corrupt profitability scandal of a medical provider.

My mom goes to SSM Health/Dean for all of her medical needs. Staff has always been very nice and accommodating. She's had one doctor for the longest and have just recently gotten a new PCP because her old one left the facility to pursue a new opportunity in another state (I believe). Anyway, they were able to set her up with a new PCP very quickly. My mother has been to this facility ever since I was a small child, I'm 29 now and she still comes to Dean. I don't believe she's been with any other facility. SSM health/Dean has always been able to accommodate all of my mom needs medically, physically, and emotionally. Especially because my mother doesn't speak that good of English. There's always an interpreter scheduled for every appointment and they'll even have an interpreter on the line when leaving a voice message for my mother. It's very nice and convenient because I have 5 other siblings and we all help out with taking my mom to her appointments. So it's nice to have information available regarding my mother's care. Keep up the good work!

I am so extremely frustrated by the Rheumatologists I saw at this location for the past 5 years. She ( I wont name specific Women Dr) said blood tests and xrays were Negative, that I did Not have carpal tunnel syndrome and just 2 months ago I saw an Orthopedic surgeon who said my nerves were so badly damaged that he scheduled and did CT surgery with skin graph due to severe damage in my nerves in my right hand . Now I have asked to see other Rheumatologists there, due to Dean insr. Only allows me to see Dean Drs and None of the other Rheumatologists will see me at this location or any other location as All Dean Rheumatologists are Located at this one and Only Location in Madison. I did nothing wrong but Im being discriminated against and Now I can not see or find another rheumatologist in Madison and was denied by a Rheumatologist in Fond du Lac WI too. They flat out denied seeing me , saying there is Nothing more they can do for me?? ...something seems very sketchy and Im so fed up with Dean SSM Health Rheumatologists at the Fish Hatchery Rd Clinic in Madison WI She also said my MRI was neg. And i go to see a spine specialist who said my discs are collapsing and pinching nerves in upper spine, ive been getting shots in upper spine the past 5 mo. Clearly these 2 women Rheumatologists at this clinic do little to nothing to help you and did Not thoroughly look thru blood tests and other tests. Im still in severe pain and need a rheumatologist for arthritis and fibromyalgia But im being denied care. I dont get it and in fact Im fed up and calling them out now. Its not fair to me to do this.
