I needed a new life jacket. I got a really great one that fit me very well. I had a lot of help from two excellent sales people who knew the products and knew what would fit me best. Everything in that store is excellent quality. If you are a paddler or want to be a but don't know how to get yourself started, this is the place to go in Madison. The staff are super knowledgeable not just about the gear, but also about paddling places. I look forward to going back!

Darren was super helpful, which is the reason I chose to purchase from Rutabaga Paddlesports. Communication was excellent and the whole experience was exceptional. My kayak shipped on Saturday and was delivered Tuesday morning in perfect condition.

You can never have enough boats (I currently have five canoes and three kayaks) and Rutabaga is the best place to go for great products and experienced service people. Brandon was very knowledgable and helpful when I shared what I was looking for in a new canoe and Shannon was also very helpful when I did a test paddle, even offering to help secure the canoe in my truck. Just took my new Northstar Pearl Blacklite for its maiden voyage down the Sugar River and could not be happier! Live Beyond Land!

Phil at Rutabaga helped me upgrade from a 12' Adirondack to a 14' Echo purchase. This new journey is completely new for me going from a 14.5 Dagger Kayak to a 14' Solo Canoe. With zero experience I have much more confidence going forward with his help offering much education and experience. I rescued a dog 6 months ago and need to make room for her in our life of adventure.
