This is a super nice store with a lot of beautiful vintage and modern style clothes, bags, accessories, shoes... A place must to visit in Madison. They sell them at a cheap price and the shop owner is a sweet lady!

It is my fault but I want to put this out as a warning. I purchased some scarves that I assumed were all priced similarly. I did not carefully check the prices and that is my responsibility. The sales woman was talking to me almost constantly as if she was in a high pressure sales environment and she notice I was also distracted by my son.This is a posting about this store that I have thought about carefully and have not posted impulsively, and as such, it is a buyer-beware notice due to the usual sales technique which I do not often see on State Street and I would call overtly aggressive and dishonest.The woman is the manager and buyer for the store and definitely utilized a sales technique that I fell for so it is my doing as well. She was distracting me and even pulling my phone to the Apple Pay while also telling me that another buyer regularly comes in to buy the scarves up so it is rare that she still had these scarves for sale. I usually am not fooled by this overt techniques but I was an easy mark on this graduation weekend. ☺️. She even coos, “I’ll give you a 10% discount on the one scarf!”When I staggered out, I noticed the total was almost $100 for three scarves, and I balked and returned to the store. I said I needed to not buy the two expensive scarves. One was a modern one made in China and the other was a misprinted one. At that point she pointed out a minuscule sign inked on a placemat on the counter, “All Sales Final”. I meekly left but felt rushed into the sale. My fault but caveat emptor (buyer beware!) for sure. This error reflects on me poorly but also on her somewhat distracting and deceptive style of sales on a student and historically bargain street.

I was looking for a more unique graduation dress, not just plain red or white and there was a PERFECT one in the window!! I wasn’t sure it would fit, but tried it on and it fit great! The owner of the store is so sweet and kind. She said I was like Cinderella finding the perfect fit . Thank you so much!!

This is a must go see for yourself shop! Creative and unique window displays. When entering the store, It’s like taking a walk-through memory lane as there's so much memorabilia. Not to mention, the staff is friendly, and the music fits the setting.

I am in town for the month working. I looked up the best Madison had to offer in thrift and resale. Rethreads was at the top of the list. When I walked in not only was I not greeted, but the clerk didn't even look up when I approached the counter. There was one person inside when I entered who soon left. It was a very young woman behind the counter with the yellow eyeshadow, whom I guess thought that I would not or could not buy anything. I saw a few things I was interested in but refuse to spend my money where I do not receive good customer service. Maybe you should make it a policy to treat all who enter your place of business with a pleasant greeting. It presents an inclusive environment making all feel welcome, not just your idea of a perceived client. As for me , I am a melanated woman.
