I've gone to Remachines on Sherman Avenue (near Commercial) when I had problems with either of my two laptops, and I've never been disappointed. Big problems or small, software or hardware, Remachines handles them all, at fair rates, and with transparency about how much work is likely to be involved so the customer can make informed choices. Great place.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I had Linux laptop with a bad battery and a problem with freezing. They diagnosed a bad SSD and were able to replace both in a speedy and cost-effective manner and went the extra mile to make sure there were no other issues.

After trying everything I knew to get my laptop up and running again, I brought it to Remachines. They were able to identify my RAM was bad while I waited. They were terrific and I'll be back for all of my computer needs.

I'm very happy with the computer set-up and repair services I have received at Remachines. They are experts at diagnosing and resolving difficult and troublesome issues. I've also noticed that they have a large selection of well-priced used computers, monitors, cables and parts. Highly recommended!

I love this place. This is where I go to get my technology first. I'd way rather spend my money at Remachines than on Amazon, because Remachines always has really good deals on equipment and plenty of it. The quality is top-notch on their gear. I bought a gaming computer that happened to be there for a really, really good price, completely upgrading my experience. I love it. 10/10 for value and quality. The only times that I've ever had problems with gear I bought from there, they've exchanged or fixed it right there on the spot. Another great reason to come here is the lady who basically runs the show. She's knowledgeable, fun, and hooks me up with what I need. I can always trust Remachines over some big dirty corporation.

I am so grateful I brought my macbook air to Remachines. Bao's expertise, transparency, problem solving and support has cemented Remachines as the business I will always take my computer to. Especially for macbook users, I urge you to bring your computer to Remachines before heading to the Apple store.

Had them but together a custom build for me. Contacted them through the website. They walked me through everything! This is coming from a guy who knows nothing about computers. The assembly took like a day. My computer is flawless. Thanks again.

They are awesome. They recovered my data and would were super polite and responsive. I had an ancient NAS drive that died. Of course I didn't have a recent backup. One place told me that they would only take it if I brought in the hard drive separately. So I try to get it out, but I am left with a total mess. I bring the whole thing in a box, the screws I managed to remove in a baggy. To their immense credit the woman who took my drive did not laugh me out of there. I was emotionally prepared that nothing would be recoverable. She said it might take a few days because she was the only one in that week. No problem from my end. And lo and behold a few days later she called and said she had recovered my data. I highly recommend

I found Remachines when looking online for a place to recycle VHS tapes. Nate replied quickly to my inquiry (on a Sunday no less!). I went and for a nominal fee got them all recycled. I also made a purchase thanks to Boa, the amazing, efficient employee who was working that day. I will definitely be back!!

The seemingly chaotic appearance of the shop on Sherman Ave is misleading. The proprietor was able to steer me directly to a rehabbed Dell "Vostro" tower for $200. It included WiFi and the most recent Windows version. I took it home, plugged it in, it was easy-peasy to set up and I have had ZERO issues with it. I held off writing this review until it had had a fair test run. It is still fast, fast, fast- boots up like lightening. I originally browsed Amazon, Newegg and Best Buy, but then remembered this unassuming little shop down the street. It comes with a local techie and a warranty- which I doubt I will ever need. Update: As of March 2020, I have not needed to use that warranty. The computer still runs great and as fast as the day I first plugged it in!

I have been going to Remachines for several years now with my computer needs. Besides courteous and attentive, staff there are knowledgeable and efficient. Their prices are reasonable and their professionalism is of a high caliber. Not only do they service computers, they have a variety for sale--and they do a great job of matching you to the computer best for you. Recently I upgraded (to the Dell laptop I am using right now); I should have done this much earlier. The data transfer from the old to this new computer was smooth and quickly done. I was also given ample instruction on what was new about my new computer. I am very pleased. I also know that, should I have any future computer needs, someone is on hand at Remachines to help me out. I recommend them most highly. Gerry M.

Once, I took my laptop to be fixed in another shop. I was in a rush and it was right across the street. Big mistake. Remachines is the only place in town where I don't have to worry about the quality of service. They are diligent, knowledgable and operate with utmost integrity. It is the the best place to go when your machine needs some love. Thanks guys!

I had so much stuff to recycle and emailed Remachines to see if they would take it. Not only did they take it all, they picked it all up at no charge! This stuff was very heavy. We're talking large floor speakers, DVD player, stereo receiver, turntable, monitor, printer, the works. The speakers were almost as tall as the very nice young woman who did the pick up. Fast response to my original email, fast scheduled pick up. Best customer service I have received in a very long time. Thanks, Diane

Remachines is a certain blast from the past. I took my friend who had experienced computer stores in other places before (outside Madison), where you could just tell them what you wanted, and they would just make it happen. Remachines is like that. They give honest answers to questions. We had trouble with a competing used computer stores where they just tried to sell you what they had, and the computers at the time didn't have wireless cards at that particular vendor. Nate laughed at the question, "do these laptops have wireless?" "what good would they do without wireless?" We had another store in town that is kind of bargain bin warehouse style. They had these laptops without wireless. Refurbished shouldn't mean you aren't picky.
