Asked me to prepay for services then refused to honor these services and claimed they "expired" after 30 days. The owner did resolve this dispute and credit the money, but I'll be taking business elsewhere.

After years of taking our pups to various veterinarians, we feel so fortunate to have found this animal hospital. Dr. Emily Altkorn is so knowledgeable, thorough, and thoughtful as we tried to help our aging Teddy with eye issues. We have already sent friends to Northside, and they are so thankful for the recommendation. They saw a different vet, but were just as impressed with her as we are with Dr. Altkorn.

I can't recommend them enough!
I was told about them by my co-worker, at Willy st co-op and I'm so glad I went with through with it! The staff is incredibly kind and so gentle with my pet. I could tell they only wanted the best for both my cat and I.
I was a little nervous about pricing but they offer some insurance plans and honestly, the prices were not bad at all, it was a relief. They also have an app, which is great for scheduling and sharing any pet information/files that may be needed.
I'm honestly looking forward to my pet getting the proper care from this staff! I've had some fairly poor vet experiences and Northside Animal Hospital redeemed it all for me.

I took my animals there for several years before getting a job there. You know how they sometimes ask to take your pet in back for a nail trim? Did you wonder if they are as good to them back there as they are in front of you? Well, they are! That's why I still take mine there even though I don't work there anymore. Not just quality care, loving care.?

Update: they're now functionality requiring you to use their online pharmacy. They will not authorize other online pharmacies directly and will instead require you to go in to pick a paper prescription. It's hard to see this through any other lense than a cash grab through their preferred partner. Additionally, this position is ableist - pet owners may have limited mobility, may rely on friends/family to get to their annual visits, may not have access to a car, or may work during most clinic hours.
The staff at Northside care about and treat my animals as if they were their own. I trust that they will give me recommendations and treatment options that they'd offer and pursue for their own animals, and I know they have the experience and expertise to make those recommendations. They are up-to-date on the latest in veterinary science and are always willing to explain new recommendations, talk through the pros/cons of new fads, and offer tailored guidance to my pets and their unique needs.
Dr. Olsen especially has been a wonderful partner in ensuring my 3 animals' health. I've recommended her to my friends who have similar great experiences with her. She has impeccable bedside manner, and she modulates her behavior to match the unique vibes of my 3 pets (one super high strung cat, one himbo cat, and one derpy dog).
My only ""con"" is that it is pricey, but I think prices are in-line for the area. I'll also say that good pet care shouldn't be cheap - I want my providers to have the tools and experience they need to holistically treat my pet, and it's important to understand that that costs money. They are also always willing to discuss cheaper options that still provide the quality of care your pet needs -- but if something really does need to be done, they'll communicate that, too.

I scheduled my first appointment at NAH because I had a pretty sick kitty. I was able to get in same day right before the weekend. Everyone was wonderful and very caring. They were very gentle with my cat and I knew she was in good hands. NAH will definitely be our main provider from now on!
