I built a computer from parts and ended up with a hardware issue. I took it into the shop and they diagnosed the faulty part, and were open to communicating with me throughout the process.
Ultimately I decided to retrieve the computer and install a replacement motherboard myself. They were understanding and had the computer put together and ready to pick up between the time I made the call to when I showed up at the shop twenty minutes later.

Do not go here. They used to have pretty good service for decent prices. They have gone downhill. I paid a ridiculous amount of money for them to have my computer for 6 weeks. My computer came back to me with the original problem resolved but they broke my fan and ruined my audio on my computer. They refused to fix those problems without charging me even more money. I will NEVER return here.

Great Service and Knowledgeable Professionals. I supplied the parts and they assembled the computer. They even replaced a part that wasn't going to work with one they had in stock. This computer should last a long time!

Do not go here! Both Tony and Andy are very rude. They charge 100 dollars just to look at it and $219 to fix the issue..so essentially would be spending 319 on a $3 dollar hdmi port. Save your time and go to a place that isn’t going to up charge you.

I would avoid this place if I were you. I was estimated $190 and was charged $389 without a call to notify me of the price change. Additionally, they were very slow. I gave them the laptop on 3/13 and got a call it was done on 4/9 (27 days total).
I am a software dev and have built my own computers for years. I went in to get a charging port replaced on a laptop. This is not a complicated order, but it does involve soldering so I needed someone to with a solder gun to do this. The final price was 205% more than the quoted price. There was no notification of this increase.
I choose this place for the good reviews, but after working with them I am baffled how they got those reviews. I would avoid this place if I were you.

No stars. They had our laptop for a week with prepay $57. Called multiple times and finally a tech said - the battery is bad. We told him the battery is new and was charging fine at home. Oh, then it's the motherboard. Did they even diagnose? Lost our trust right there. Said they would call the next day with price. Did not call. We picked it up and it's worse than when we dropped it off.

I spilled a cup of tea on my laptop that was storing a large amount of un-backed up data from my PhD research. While there was too much damage to the logic board for the Madison Geeks Group to repair the computer in house, they coordinated a repair with a third party that was able to fix it microchip by microchip. They took care of everything including communicating the problem with the third party to get a quote, packing and shipping the computer, and handling the payment to the third party. I was so pleased that they made this possible, as Apple and other repair shops in town wouldn't work around my need to maintain the integrity of my data in the process of a repair. Highly recommend!

I took my computer in because it was crashing. They told me they fixed the crashing, but I haven’t been able to use it since I picked it up Friday. It looks like it is turning on, but it won’t connect to any screens! I tried hdmi and dv, multiple cables and screens. The display simply won’t work. I’m not sure what went wrong, but it feels like a waste of $250. Also their call center does a terrible job of relaying information to them, or to clients

Super impressed with these guys. The repair rates are reasonable and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I brought my rig in to repair the liquid cooling fan. Mike analyzed my machine and besides replacing the cooling system also suggested additional improvements to make the rig faster. My rig has never run as good as it does now. I will always use Madison Geeks Group for all my computer repairs in future. Mike, you rock!

We had a scientific instrument running on an XP box which quit booting for unknown reasons beyond our expertise. The controlling software/hardware is not compatible with current operationg systems. In house IT refused to get involved which made a $150,000 brick out of the instrumentI contacted MGG rocket repair and delivered our computer to them explaining I had gotten it to boot before it died, but it only ran about 30 min and shut down to never boot again. We did confirm the harddrive was still operational. So Luke the Technician cloned our drive to a new solid state drive and was able to get another system box they had. It booted in XP. He moved the boards to the new box updated drivers, and the system seemed to be working. While we haven't confirmed the calibrations yet, we did confirm the new box was controling the instrument.The service and assistance was extrodinary. The staff very friendly and efficient at getting us a workable system. Costs were very reasonable and the turn around quick. My compliments to Luke the Tech in helping us rescue a $150,000 brick back to a working scientific instrument.
