The same people complaining about the bit of a higher price over big chain shops are the same people who will get in their huge expensive SUV, burn expensive gas, sit in miserable traffic, and go to the suburbs to pay $1 less for the same thing... Yes prices are a little higher for some things, but personally that's quite fine to me, to have a corner store literally around the corner from where I live. The owner is quite nice and friendly, the store has character and it's calm, and has most of what I need in a pinch. Every neighborhood should have stores like these.

Tiny locally owned market with all the things you forget on your shopping list. Very fair prices for a corner store and convenience. Produce is hit or miss.

We live in the area and pop by every now and then when we are in a pinch. We are always grateful they have the random thing we are looking for. They also have a bunch of local products which I have bought as gifts with Bucky on it (popcorn, chocolate, etc.) The guy is friendly and I’m not sure where all the hate is coming from below. We have found them to be quite nice!

most reviews here seems to be out of date, the place is a very relaxing quiet shop to browse around for almost anything, the staff which changed between 2 different people working behind the cash register, the afternoon worker can really ring you up pretty fast, very impressive

Manager is psycho and likes to get in your face. They don't throw out expired food, and when you accidentally buy the expired food that they DONT throw out, they refuse refunds and scream at you. There are PLENTY of other grocery stores you can use that won't treat you so poorly

Not a fan of shopping somewhere knowing they not only don't properly dispose of expired food, but still sell it to customers. Also yelling and getting in someone's face, you could shop at any other market in Madison and not have this issue ever.

This is our favorite corner store in town! The products are consistently high quality and the space is clean. The owner is very thoughtful and always updating his products based on customer needs. For example, one time he saw me limping on a sprained ankle. The next day he had an ankle brace in stock! Very nice guy. To top it all off, he keeps prices incredibly fair. Highly recommend all around.

Extremely rude!!! If you want common courtesy and people to treat you humanely this is NOT the place!!!

Have been stopping by for last minute ingredients and chatting with owner for years. This week I stopped by, complimented his hat and he mine and he shared a poem out of a thick sheaf. As a poet it tickled me. Shop local for little surprises!

Tbh there items there are cheaper there then that Festival Foods place , it may not be that big of a store but still a nice place to shop there, the owner a pretty nice guy who been running this store since 2001, btw the owner even sells these cool wooden objects in the back near the cat food (swords, cutting boards, bowels) I highly recommend this place, his cash register has all these old coins from around the world, it's like a work of art, I hope this store continues to keep running it's business
