I have gone to this place ever since I was 6 years old and I have to say that I kinda do not see any difference. I feel like they have downsize or just the same, even with the updates they have done. Comparing most YMCA in Dane county area to smaller towns, you would expect a big city like Madison to have more and provide more but unfortunately it is not the case. The pool is cold even if the water temperature is hot/warm because the fans above the ceilings are so strong and you can feel the fans more than the hot/warm water. I witnessed so many kids shivering and shaking badly just like mine. I really do hope atleast one YMCA in the Dane county would do more update if possible.

While I have not been here myself, I will say it is super frustrating to be waiting for MONTHS to get an answer back. I applied here not too long ago, and I still haven't gotten back. They told me it would take two weeks it's been nearly two months now. I am disappointed.

Stopped in recently on a trip to Madison. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The facilities need a little updating, but otherwise this appears to be a great location.

The facilities are a bit dated, but clean and spacious. Wish there were more class times and variety (would like more classes on Sunday or weekday afternoons/nights) but the classes that do exist are great! All of the instructors I've attended classes with were very encouraging of all skill levels, and the classes aren't very crowded. I especially like Heather, Rob, and Kristi's Les Mills classes.

Good price for membership for the facilities and classes you get access to. All of the trainers for classes I've attended have been friendly and knowledgeable, and the class sizes are pretty small. The front desk staff are friendly and I feel comfortable exercising here.Nice pool, gyms, and exercise equipment. Could use some improvements for sauna and racquetball court.

I participated in the diabetes class. I feel like it's a huge waste of time. (1 year class). Also, it was hyped as being successful in weight loss. Nope. That program and experience deserves 0 stars.

I really debated on leaving this review but felt I would should shed some light on a situation that just hasn't sat well with me. Our family was part of the giving tree organization. Meaning another Wonderful family chose my kiddos to give Xmas gifts to. I received a call to pick up the gifts and was informed that there was a gift card for the kids as they had all asked for one. When I picked up the bag, there was no gift card. Wasn't a big deal because I am forever thankful for what the family had given us. My issue was it was delivered to the YMCA and from there on out it was gone. I called the lady who was in charge and left voicemails but no response. Called the front desk, they took a message, no response. Not even a "Hey I got your message, sorry I know I said it was there but probably got lost, nothing! Very weird why I would be ignored after the fact.

I am loving the 8:15 am water in motion class. It's so fun and I feel wonderful all day after. I haven't moved my body in 2 years and my extra weight and depression really taking a toll. I also have knee pain so I'm a little limited, but this class greatly helps my knee pain and it has greatly diminished. I wish I joined long ago. It's truly been life changing. Better late than never. Staff at the Y and Becky the class instructor is really nice too. Weekend shallow water classes would be wonderful. I know there's a shortage of instructors though. Thank you for all that you do.

I've been a visitor of the Y since i've been a child and a member of the YMCA for about 1 year. I reached out to West YMCA to cancel my family's swim class, membership & refund my monthly membership fee & they refused to return funds as the YMCA WEST has been closed for months. My family will never return & any family I come in contact with I will urge them to cancel or never get a membership.

The staff are friendly and the equipment is in good condition. The couple of times I saw a machine that was out of order, it was fixed within 1 to 2 weeks.
