KRISTIN IS THE BEST ZUMBA INSTRUCTOR EVER!!!!!

The equipment is good with a decent variety, and there are plenty of weights for squatting, deadlifting, and bench pressing. The equipment, locker rooms, sauna, and showers are clean. Most employees are friendly, although some are ruder than others.
The gym policy states no dropping weights, which I feel is standard. However, some employees confront you about making noise when putting weights down. Today, I was confronted while deadlifting, even though I wasn't slamming or dropping the weights. I was singled out, despite another person hack squatting over 300 lbs and putting his weights down much louder than me. When I asked the staff why I was singled out, they blamed my headphones. When I asked for their names, I was called rude, and another employee essentially threatened that if I complained, the employee I was complaining about could retaliate and get me banned. This incident shows that the gym is more concerned about its employees than customer satisfaction.
I have never had issues with putting weights down in my years of working out at other gyms. I haven’t had issues in the two months I've been here, except when signing up and not being informed about reduced summer hours happening the week after I joined. This should have been explained during the sign-up process.
I would not recommend if your looking for a gym with consistent hours, or if you lift heavy and putting the bar down makes any noise.

The people that run the YMCA are very rude
Sometimes very disrespectful there is one lady that like to hang up on you and talk to you like you slow

Preschool program is a mess, inconsistent and poorly managed. Steer clear if you plan on working here! Fear for the Childcare industry after this one.

Deadlift platform, two squat racks, two flat bench presses and one incline bench press. Would be nice to get hip extension, donkey kick and ab machines in the fitness center.

Great organization but I hate that coaches who volunteer all there time as a good deed to other kids who may not have parents or a parent, we still have to pay full price if our kid is in program makes no sense. I love to help other kids but my time is just as important. They need to change that rule it’s not fair to these parents dedicating time to help

I walked into the Lussier FAMILY Ymca…unbeknownst to ANY one there…could I get a simple HELLO? NO. Could I get a May I help you? NO. FAMILY EAST YMCA? The women behind the counter were more concerned about their personal lives than those needing their help….BOOOOOOO!

Yesterday went to Zumba Party at Lussier Family East YMCA . Disco ball, black lights, glow sticks. When I came back home I literally could not move :-), so much energy, Kristin is an awesome instructor, she works the room, dances with everyone and makes all of us older ladies feel motivated! and you will not need your antidepressants anymore ;-) (class is every Wednesday 6.45 pm)Even though one does not have to work hard to motivate me, what is more impressive how instructor engages people with limited range of motions. And that's what I like very much about Madison YMCA, when you come to a class and there are people in wheel chairs! who dance the way they can, it really shows how kind and inclusive the environment is. And also I try to stay in the back of the room because I am tall and nobody can see anything when I am in front. İn East YMCA there is a TV screen at the back that shows the instructor, so when we are at the back and can not see the stage well we can just see it on the TV.

Unlike the other older reviews I found this place delightful! Friendly/helpful staff. Yes, it is a well used facility but I think it is kept up well. The EGYM I used was great! Works out all your muscle groups equally and it knows from your wrist band who you are and were you're at physically. Very family friendly too. I saw a bunch of little kids there yesterday. All were smiling! Quite a difference from the other east side gym on Atwood Ave. That place has less equipment and no pool. Also there, I got a bad vibe from getting the stink eye from the Cro-Magnon body builders there. Creepy..

It’s a decent gym, definitely a family vibe to it. Has what I need just wish it was open a little later.

The staff is amiable and helpful. The equipment is always clean and kept in an orderly fashion.
