I love this store and staff. Clothing ranges from every day to special event. It is my go to place when I need something and I am rarely disappointed. For the most part I am a jeans and sweatshirt person and this store just allows me to take it up a notch and still be comfortable.

I think this place must have turned things around. After reading the old reviews I was expecting a cold reception from the sales staff. But they were all VERY friendly. The quality of the clothing is high end. Beautiful material, great fit. I found a maxi skirt on the sale rack for $24. It's so cute! The young woman ringing me up for so talkative and wrapped my skirt up nice as if it was a $100 item (which many of their items are). I will definitely visit Karen's again.

I have to unfortunately agree with most of the other Yelpers for Karen & Co. Customer service at this "boutique" is not friendly at all. No word of greeting, no smile as you walk through the store. The overall vibe is stilted and snobbish. I'm sure they have a dedicated group of long time shoppers that have spent lots of $$$ and are welcomed by name and smiles because the store does indeed have some very nice clothing, footwear and jewelry. When will stores like Karen & Co who carry higher priced merchandise realize that people who spend money come in all shapes, sizes, ages and color.

Not a relationship-based boutique at all. Snobby, condescending, inflexible. I'm thrilled to say that I found the clothing I was planning to purchase at their store online for 10% lower than their cost.

I also agree with Sarah M. below. I've been in this store about ~30 times, but just stopped going because of the attitude. Now I reserve my clothes shopping for the internet or Chicago (Saks, Barneys). The shop owners and staff act like they are above you and know more when they are usually a few years behind the trend and really haven't traveled much. Plus, they are ageist, not taking younger customers seriously. By "Younger" we are talking about under 40 for Caucasians and under 60 for Asians... since they seems to think all Asians are students and can't seem to determine their age. As Sarah M. below says below, they should remember they are a mediocre store in Madison, Wisconsin and drop the attitude. UPDATE: I was in here recently (in 2015) and was shocked at how nice the staff was, and the fact that they helped me right away... I'm wondering whether these reviews helped.

This place is great. Beautiful, high quality clothing and accessories, a clean and attractive store, excellent window displays, the list goes on. I've even gotten a few things here on sale before. They do have sales in between seasons. FYI- I would guess this store aims for the 35-50 year old woman as the target customer. I feel if I bought more than a few items from here that it would make me look older (I'm 26.)

This is my favorite store in the whole world! I visit my sister a few times a year and even though I am from New York City, I ONLY SHOP IN MADISON. All of my clothes are from Karen & Co. It's such a treat to shop there. Any time I get a compliment and am asked where I shop, I say MADISON, WI!!!!

I love this boutique. This is my one-stop shop for Longchamp bags - and we all know how much I love my Longchamps. (: I've also had a great time perusing all the clothing and accessories that they carry. Definitely a little out of my price range for now, but this is the one place in Madison where I can go once in a while to treat myself to something nice. (: However, I definitely agree with Sarah M. about the attitude of the employees. The few times that I've been in the store, I've gotten the feeling that I'm not taken very seriously because of my age. I've taken my friend shopping there a few times as well, and she's gotten the same vibe too. Otherwise, Karen&co is great, and this doesn't bother me enough to stop me from returning!

I drive one hour each way just to shop here. Fabulous customer service and fashions. I Highly recommend this great little shop to all my friends when i know they are traveling to Madison.

The lady below must have been in on an off day. I hope she gives them another shot because I've been shopping here for years without an issue. Whenever I shop here they are very friendly and helpful to me. I am always greeted, let alone to roam around and browse (no pressure sales pitch), and they give me assitance if I need it. I like this boutique and have some great pieces when I want to spoil myself.

The clothes, etc, are nice but the people who work here are so snotty! I just want to say to them, "You're in Madison, Wisconsin. This is not Rodeo Drive or Fifth Avenue. Drop the attitude." I don't need to be treated like scum when I'm out to spend money -- I'll avoid this store from now on.
