My eyeglass prescription changed a lot, and I needed new glasses. I thought JCPenney had a good deal on frames I liked, and even though they didn't take my insurance, it would still have been cheaper. I was promised the glasses in 7 to 10 business days. OVER TWO MONTHS LATER, after multiple calls to them and excuses back from them, JCPenney told me today they still couldn't guarantee they could get me glasses in the next two weeks, and I had to cancel my order and start over with another company. I will NEVER work with them again. The employee in the optical center said that they were running late with everyone's orders, although my experience seemed beyond the pale. To be crystal clear, I ordered in early October, and they could still not get me my glasses before Christmas!

The minute I walked in Alicia welcomed me in with a smile. I had two pairs of glasses that needed repairs and left with both fixed! One was a harder repair; any minute Alicia could have given up on the job but she kept at it. I really appreciate it the service. Thank you, it was a pleasure!

I purchased a $400.00 pair of progressive bifocals from JCPenny Optical East according to their records in 2017. I tried the glasses for a week and they simply didn't work. I went back they said they adjusted the prescription and still they didn't work. I went back a total of three times and on the third time, I said I wanted my money back. I was told they couldn't refill me my money. So I nicely picked up my glasses and left. Two years later (this month), I get a random call from Penny's telling me that it was time for a new eye exam. I explained to the caller what happened and that I wouldn't be back. She informed me that they were under new management, bring my glasses in and they would try and make it right. In between making my way to Penny's I received another call from a gentleman. I made my way in their today explained to him the situation and even played him the message that he himself had left me and he informed me that there was nothing they could do. For the final time I left JCPENNY Optical and will NEVER BE BACK OR RECOMMEND THEM! I can't speak for others but I don't have $400.00 to throw away down the drain.

I had an awful experience here and wasted a lot of time and money. I bought a pair of glasses for my daughter. There were some issues with the glasses, and she did not like them. They said they can do an even exchange, as covered by the warranty. She looked for another frame but did not see anything she liked -- choices of frames, especially for a teenager, are very limited. I asked if they can just fill the new prescription into her old frame, which was also from JcPenney, and was told (the next day, as the lady working that day did not know anything) that would still qualify as an even exchange under the warranty. In order to do that, however, they said they would have to take her glasses to put the new lenses in. The frame is from JcPenney, so they should have been able to find another one like it or use the measurements from the last purchase to do that, without having to take her current frame. Since my daughter could not give up her glasses for 1.5 weeks, I asked if filling the prescription in an outside frame would be covered by the warranty. I was told that it would be, so we selected another frame from another store. After we purchased the frame, we went to JcPenney, got there at 5:45pm, only to find out they were closed (hours said they were open until 6pm). We were about to go on vacation, and the warranty period was expiring (and she needed the new prescription), so I called the home office, trying to see if we can get this done at one of their other locations, while travelling. Home office then tells me I was misled and filling an outside frame is not covered by the warranty, and it would not even qualify for their promotion, so it would be more expensive for me to get just the lenses than it would to get the whole package. At this point, I have lost the money I spent on the glasses, as well as purchased another expensive frame (I thought I was still within budget since the lenses should have been free). They are now refusing to take responsibility for their mistakes or to attempt to make things right for us. I will never purchase anything from them again and will make sure to tell friends and family to stay away, as they cannot be trusted and don't even staff their store according to their posted hours.
