Nice place to stop...
Very relaxed grocery store. Restaurants and a cooking class upstairs! The islands and greenery were soothing. I was assisted by very warm energy when i was unfamiliar with a process at self checkout. Hadn't eaten since early morning and was ready to scarff big time. The staff at the asian counter was very cold to me though- rolled his eyes and everything, acted like he didn't hear or see me even though we made eye contact as i approached. i hurriedly ordered- it was both of our displeasure at that time. food is ok. maybe it would have tasted better if he hadn't been so customer adept with the one before.
I will return- just stay away from that counter......

The butcher counter has a great selection of quality meat. Their regular brats are fabulous!!!

Pricing has become exorbitant. Hy-vee is now much more expensive than Metcalfe's and has limited selection. I added another star because Hy-Vee is .4 miles closer to our house. Still, there are several alternative options available.
If anything, prices have gone up since my earlier review. I suppose the armed and flack-jacketed security guard is one addition. Having a guy with a sidearm in there tells you Hy-vee values their overpriced goods over human life. Anyone who has done enforcement/prevention knows 70% of retail theft is by employees.
As to the pricing, what's the excuse now? There are no supply chain issues. Inflation has gone and is trending down considerably. The only explanation is corporate profits/greed. Do better. No one expects an establishment that proports to be a member of the community to rob them for basic necessities.

Actually, a really good selection of craft beer, decent meats, and nicely waxed vegetables for you eating pleasure. I don't suggest the in-house hummus who the hell adds cumin to their hummus it's not taco meat

Great store with a very good in-store bakery, good meat counter and excellent cheese counter. I'm sure we are there 3 times a week.

I was assisted by Jen in the liquor department, and she was a knowledgeable, joyful presence. Knew exactly where my Vizzy was and had a big smile!
