Deceptive marketing practices - I only went there as they advertised for $80, and at the end they charged me $174.00 , as usual hidden cost. I dont know why they hide just tell us the actual cost.

I never write reviews but this entire experience was so bizarre. I scheduled an appointment online and received a phone call the next day about how they need to reschedule me because no one is at that location. Cool, It was someone calling me from corporate is what I assume. I put the exact date and time they gave me into my calendar and I get a message the day prior that I missed my appointment. I gave them some lenience and assumed that someone messed up on accident. I gave them another chance and scheduled another appointment online at a location that was available for the time I needed but it further away. I get to the location and it was closed and said to go to another location. I called to confirm my appointment and was told nothing about a separate address. They are incredibly disorganized and I am now supporting a smaller operation, which is what I should have done in the first place.

Kim processed taxes incorrectly and then I had to pay hundreds more due to her error. Take your taxes to an accountant. And if they do make an error and you didn't take out their 40 dollar insurance policy, you pay! Not to be trusted!

Very poor customer service due to being understaffed, I presume. Was assured I would get communication of some sort 2 days after dropping off paperwork, did not hear anything, received no response to my calls for almost another week. When someone finally picked up the phone, they promised me I'd get a call back within a certain timeframe. No one called. Finally was able to schedule a time to come in and review my return, when I showed up, one person was working and had no idea who I was or where my return was. She, however, was quite competent and was able to eventually locate it and thoroughly review with me, and apologized for my experience to that point. She assured me that the person who had completed my return was one of the best. I was grateful for her help. The only reason they are getting 1 star is because of this person,.
Just received a letter from the IRS that there was an error with my return, and thankfully it was in my favor for a refund, but kind of unsure how "one of the best" could have made an error with a not terribly complicated return.
Never going back.

Showed up on 3/26 at 9am for tax prep. Had no record of appointment (I showed proof that I had scheduled with automated system). Was told to come back on 3/27 at 8am and branch was not open until 9am; tax preparer showed up at 8:55am. My taxes were prepared but I unfortunately had to cut in front of another person who's appointment was at 9am.

Your agent had no way of actually resolving any issues. All they can do is apologize and tell me to send a letter. This does nothing to help me or resolve the terrible customer service issues being presented by the HR Block in Madison Wisconsin on the Beltline. I started scheduling my tax appointment in late January and it has been rescheduled or canceled by the Beltline office FIVE TIMES and it is now late March. Unreliable service. The manager, Kim, said it was because of various issues ranging from a malfunctioning computer system hosted by corporate to employees being sick. Kim either has no power as the manager or was lying to me. Either way, the five cancellations are ridiculous and unacceptable. She also refused to reschedule anyone else to grant me an appointment. Apparently, to her, it is acceptable to reschedule and cancel on me FIVE TIMES, but she can’t reschedule anyone else (even someone who scheduled months after me) to accommodate and correct for her mistakes. The way the Beltline branch in Madison Wisconsin is run has driven me away from EVER doing business with HR Block again, whether that be in my personal or business life. Thank Kim and the Beltline branch for losing you significant business.

Last year at this location was fine.This year, I left my taxes with them the morning of April 7. I told them that if they needed to file an extension to do so.I called them yesterday and today and left three messages to return my call to let me know the status of everything. No calls.I called the 800 number on Friday and made an appointment to have someone call me at 10 am. It is almost noon and no call. Apparently this location is a bad one this year.1 star is too many...last year was 5.
