Stayed at Hotel Ruby Marie over two days while my wife had a procedure done at UW Carbone. I fell in love with the place. The entire hotel feels like walking into utter nostalgia, while keeping grounded in the fact that everything outside is quite modern.There is a bar downstairs attached to the hotel called Up North, but I never had the time on this visit to attend their services. Seems like a lively place though.Rooms: The rooms are sizeable and well accommodated. The bathroom in room 21, where I stayed, was enormous. You could dance in the space, if you desired.Food & drinks: Breakfast is served downstairs at 7AM. It's a small buffet style affair with good choices.

If you're looking for a different kind of hotel, this is it. Unique, vintage & super clean. Definitely a different kind of experience. I stayed in room 21 which was huge. A different kind of stay in a historical building that's definitely worth it. In a great location, you're across the street from the lake and can easily walk to many different activities. 3 restaurants/bars right on the hotel property. You get 2 drink tickets upon check in if that's your thing. They do offer breakfast, I didn't partake. Plenty parking right onsite. I would definitely stay here again.Only 2 negatives - the train woke me starting at 4am, the heat didn't work so well.I could see it being noisy during warmer months as it's located on a busy street.

This hidden gem is a one of a kind hotel. Reasonably priced, comfortable, and unique with great amenities. Included with your stay you get free drinks at one of the 3 bars that are in the hotel, plus free breakfast at one of the 2 restaraunts in the hotel.Rooms: Unique rooms that are decorated with antique stylingNearby activities: The hotel is connected to 3 bars and 2 restaraunts that all have live music. It's downtown madison and close/walking distance to many places.Food & drinks: Excellent food and drink selections.Noteworthy details: Possibly Haunted?
